I always wondered how many of the artists actually pay royalties/get permission to use those song since none of them are old enough to be public domain.

Hardly any which became the birth of those lil jon type beats. Record labels got tired of being hit with copyright infringement. The only folks that are able to use sample heavy beats nowadays are only artists that can afford it like Jay-Z or artists not giving a fuck and then getting sued later on if it becomes a hit.

I like em both, whosampled is raw because they usually have streams of both the sampling artists' song and the originally sampled song along with the time of when the sample takes place.....the-breaks seems like it got more shit tho

* dr dre, talent is taking something, and putting a shine on it, making it better then the original, a producer in every sense of the word, tone capone is closest the bay got sample flipping wise.
