I was just listening to the song "Sell Out" by scarface and it made me think he has gone a long time without selling out to the mainstream (although i haven't listened to his new stuff). I know some rappers have adapted and even those that have gone mainstream is understandable ($$$), but who do you think has stayed true???

Some rappers that sold out are easier to name than ones that have not... it's a shame that the market has driven hip-hop to what it is "Commercial". How many rappers of today will be remembered 10 years from now.... how many songs will still get played?

not "selling out" to the mainstream means that ur a rapper that wants to stay broke. Just because a rapper isnt famous doesnt mean he didnt "sell out", im sure if they were offered a lucrative deal theyd move out the hood real fast.
