Thats what I do. FL Studio. Except I have my own sounds, FL sounds arent, um, "up to par" would be the nicest way to say it. THEY FUCKIN SUCK! But yeah, I got my own sounds.

yeah FL you have to have patience IMO you have to fuck with so much and i have made some cool sounding shit but not worth my time usually!

I bought the FL 6 XXL edition and it came with an extra sample disc, you have to mess with the paramiters to make them sound cool, but yeah, you can always get a sample disk for around $10 off of ebay. Even with drum machines, you have to mess with the sounds so they dont sound cheezy. Keep working at it though, you can only get better.
