PORTLAND - Police are looking for four suspects who attacked a driver, beat a transient, punched two other people and invaded a convenience store - swinging baseball bats and beating people.
It happened last week, around 4 a.m. August 12th. The spree started when a driver pulled up to a pickup truck stopped in the road at Northeast Columbia and 33rd. The four suspects in the pickup started throwing things at the driver's window, shattering it and cutting him.
The driver says he tried to get away, but the pickup followed him and tried to run him off the road.
A few minutes later, the four attacked a transient at the Shell station on North Interstate, beating him and stealing his backpack.
The next stop in the Wilding Spree was punching a car passenger delivering early-morning newspapers, then beating a pedestrian on North Lombard Street.
Their next stop was caught on video. Two of the men burst into an Arco station on Northeast MLK, stealing items at will, threatening employees and pounding them mercilessly with baseball bats. The video shows the employees trying to defend the store - and paying a heavy price.
They all got away.
