I think its weird they keep taking the antagonist from the previous film(s) and making him the protagonist.
EX: Iceman in the first was the villain then in the sequel was the hero
Boyka from the second is now the hero?

probably making too much of this in my head.

When I read Wesley Snipes I laughed.

Part 1 is just boxing though? Because this one seemed based more on MMA fights?

Yea, it went from Boxing (pt1) to MMA (pts 2&3)
The character Ving Rhames plays is the antagonist in pt 1, Michael Jai White takes over the character in pt2 becomes the protagonist and has to learn MMA to earn his freedom from a corrupt Russian prison warden (what? did I just write that?)

You watch martial arts movies for the plots? I watch them for the fight scenes. I could give a fuck if they all take place in prison.

Let me guess. You watch Al Pacino movies for good fight scenes?
Not really. I find fighting scenes also highly entertaining but you might expect them to take more then 10 minutes to think up a plot.
