“It has been a crazy ride, but it all started with ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ and I’ve never forgotten that. I have watched every episode of the series since I left the house and, if you remember, when my friend Rampage was the coach of Season 7 I went to the TUF Gym to help his team train … Obviously, I can’t say too much about the upcoming episodes, but what I will say is that those who think the Brits came to roll over and be happy to make up the numbers are going to be surprised.”

UFN 18 and TUF 9 Premiere Deliver Ratings for Spike TV

The UFC attracted over 1.9 million viewers on Wednesday night for their UFC Fight Night card that aired live from the Sommet Center in Nashville, TN.

The ratings news comes according to a press release issued by Spike TV.

The card which featured a main event pitting former WEC welterweight champion Carlos Condit and Xtreme Couture member Martin Kampmann was a lead in for the ninth season of The Ultimate Fighter. The card aired from 8 to 10:15 p.m. ET and was huge hit in one of the biggest demographics. More men 18-34 and 18-49 watched “Fight Night” than anything else in its time slot.

This year’s edition of The Ultimate Fighter features a group of American fighters taking on a group of fighters from the U.K. season three light heavyweight winner Michael Bisping is the coach for the U.K. while Dan Henderson leads the charge of American fighters. The show aired from 10:15 to 11:15 p.m. ET and averaged 1.8 million viewers. This was the most watch premiere episode of The Ultimate Fighter since season since. Once again it lead the way in the most important demographic as more men 18-34 and 18-49 watched The Ultimate Fighter than any other sporting event running in the same time frame.

The show features both lightweights and welterweights and will culminate in a live finale, where two champions will be crowned on June 20 from the Palms Casino in Las Vegas. That show will be headlined by a lightweight bout between season one middleweight winner Diego Sanchez and Clay Guida. Also on the card will be season five lightweight winner Nate Diaz taking on season two welterweight winner Joe Stevenson. Sanchez made his debut as a lightweight a successful one at UFC 95 where he defeated Stevenson while Guida recently defeated Diaz via split decision at UFC 94.

Bisping and Henderson are expected to meet at UFC 100 in July for an opportunity to face the middleweight champion later this year.

I only thought one of the American fighters looked good. And that was the dude who talked about how he will be smiling the whole time on the show.

The rest looked like shit. I didn't see any great wrestlers or jits guys.. Seems like a bunch of brawlers.
