NASHVILLE, Tenn. - MMAjunkie.com was on scene for today's UFC Fight Night 18 weigh-ins at the Sommet Center in Nashville, Tenn.

The same venue hosts tomorrow's Spike TV-televised event, which features a headline bout between UFC welterweight contender Martin Kampmann and WEC champ Carlos Condit.

While the proceedings went smoothly, one pair of combatants missed weight, while a second set of competitors waited until after the formal proceedings to make their bout official.

Both Jeremy Stephens and Gleison Tibau weighed in above the allowed 156 pounds for the lightweight division. Stephens returned to weigh-in a second time following the full proceedings. MMAjunkie.com will update the result of his weigh-in as soon as it is made available.

Ryan Jensen and Steve Steinbeiss were noticeably absent during the weigh-in process, but each made a brief appearance following the night's main-event competitors. The pair both hit the scales to make their bout official, and MMAjunkie.com is currently waiting on the official results of the process.

* - While neither competitor in the Ryan Jensen vs. Steve Steinbeiss bout weighed in during the proceedings, the pair did hit the scales following the official ceremonies. Both fighters weighed in at 186 pounds, though UFC.com is currently reporting the bout is "on hold at the moment, pending resolution of an administrative issue." MMAjunkie.com will have an update on the situation as soon as it becomes available.
+ - While both Jeremy Stephens and Gleison Tibau came in over the 156-pound limit, neither fighter weighed in without their fight shorts, and both hit the scale just once. Stephens later attempted to weigh-in following the official ceremony, but the two have agreed to meet at a catchweight of 158 pounds.

JENSEN NOT CLEARED; FIGHT WITH STEINBEISS OFF

A middleweight bout between Arizona Combat Sports fighter Steve Steinbeiss and UFC veteran Ryan Jensen has been canceled for Wednesday night's UFC Fight Night 18, as confirmed by UFC.com

In a statement received by MMAWeekly.com, UFC officials said the fight was off "due to a medical approval issue regarding (Ryan) Jensen."

Questions about the fight were raised during the weigh-ins on Tuesday when Jensen and Steinbeiss did not come out with their fellow athletes during the customary event. They did appear about 15 to 20 minutes later with both fighters weighing in at 186 pounds.

Independent sources have confirmed to MMAWeekly.com that the alleged medical issue stems from Jensen's use of Adderall, which is not allowed under standard athletic commission rules.

According to drugs.com, “Adderall is a central nervous system stimulant. It affects chemicals in the brain and nerves that contribute to hyperactivity and impulse control.

“Adderall is used to treat narcolepsy and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).”

According to sources, Jensen disclosed his use of the drug to the commission and the bout was held up pending further approval. Obviously, the commission decided to scrap the bout all together, and Jensen vs. Steinbeiss will no longer happen... at least in Nashville, Tenn., Wednesday night.

A similar situation to this happened at "The Ultimate Fighter 7" season finale when Tim Credeur admitted to using the same drug, Adderall, and the Nevada State Athletic Commission canceled his scheduled bout against Cale Yarbrough in much the same manner.

That evening, Commission Executive Director Keith Kizer said Adderall "acts as a cardio-vascular restrictor and that's the main reason it's banned because it can cause athletes to have a cardiac episode with the stress they're under when they're in an athletic competition. Secondly, it can have a performance-enhancing effect as well."

Credeur was not fined or suspended for his infraction, but it is not known at this time if Jensen will face any disciplinary action from his admission with the Tennessee Athletic Commission.

How am i an idiot? did we watch the same fight? i bet u thought bisping really beat matt hamill too.... the judges in the ufc are garbage..... that 3rd round kampmann layed on him and didnt do shit...... landed nothing clean.. yea he gotta guillotine but condit got out and gave him one of his own.... the little action the 3rd round had was carlos attacking.... im not saying carlos dominated or anything but that fight should have ended with a draw or carlos taking it.....

dos anjos was dissapointing to me. i dont understand why he didnt start kicking tysons bum leg in that second round.

and i thought kampmann-condit was close but kampmann won the 3rd with takedowns and doing more in general. either way it was close and not a robbery.

In the next fight, Brock Larson in the UFC for the first time since 2006, pummeled Jesse Sanders.

Sanders tapped due to a rear-naked choke but it was really a combo of strikes and then a neck crank that finished the fight at 2:01 of the first round. Larson was way too experienced for Sanders. He scored a takedown by bull rushing Sanders eight seconds into the fight and clinching on the cage. Larson tossed Sanders down and fell into side control. From there, he quickly took his back and flattened him out. Larson then unleashed 47 punches, landing over half of them to soften up Sanders for the finish.

This fight was the same as when Diego fought Jon Fitch they gave the edge to Fitch because he kept escaping Diego's submissions now when Condit did the same as Fitch they give it to Kampmann BS judges no consitency
