Broncos released TE Daniel Coats and waived FB Mike McLaughlin.
A blocking specialist and special teamer, Coats was signed late last season as an injury fill-in. McLaughlin was a linebacker at Boston College.

Broncos released FS Renaldo Hill.
Hill missed Thursday's practice with dehydration and was seen walking to the weight room instead of practicing Friday. In the meantime, second-rounder Rahim Moore has joined the starting lineup. Hill held his own at age 31 last season, but the Broncos weren't going to pay his $2.5 million salary.

On Sunday, the Broncos signed free agent running back Willis McGahee.

ENGLEWOOD, Colo. --The Broncos bolstered their backfield Sunday, signing free agent running back Willis McGahee to a four-year deal.

Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway said via his Twitter account that McGahee is "a true pro who will help us on the field and in the locker room."

The nine-year pro spent the past four seasons in Baltimore, where he accumulated 2,802 rushing yards and 31 touchdowns on 673 carries, adding 544 yards and four touchdowns through the air.

With the emergence of Ray Rice, McGahee morphed into the Ravens' goal-line back the past two seasons, and he relished the role, finding paydirt 17 times. In fact, since his rookie season, McGahee ranks third in the NFL with 55 rushing touchdowns, behind just LaDainian Tomlinson and Thomas Jones.

In Denver, McGahee -- who will wear No. 23 -- now joins a backfield featuring Knowshon Moreno, LenDale White and Lance Ball -- a group the club hopes can improve on last year's 26th-ranked rushing offense.

The move also means McGahee reunites with his position coach from the start of his career in Buffalo, Running Backs Coach Eric Studesville.

Under Studesville, McGahee rushed for 3,365 yards in his last three seasons with the Bills before being traded to Baltimore.

During the offseason, Offensive Coordinator Mike McCoy stressed the importance of a balanced offensive attack, and the addition of another physical running back could help push the team in that direction.

"We need to get back to the old Bronco way of running the football here," he said in May. "With our head coach, John Fox, he is determined to run the ball. When I was in Carolina with him, we had a two-headed monster every week. ... So we will do a great job running the football and get back to the way Terrell (Davis) used to run the ball here."

Along with yesterday's free agent signee David Anderson and Ryan McBean, Matt Prater and Wesley Woodyard, McGahee cannot practice with the club until the start of the new league year -- next Thursday, Aug. 4.

Eh, if he stays healthy he's better than Knowshon, this doesn't really excite me, hopefully not another Lawrence Maroney.

I'm not a bronco fan n I'm not tryna be a hater by ANY means but I can't see the broncos winning 8 games at all. Not even 4.. I'm tryna be realistic.

To the broncos fan, which games are W's? Cuz I just don't see em winning 8 games at all, not even close. Again no hate aside.

The GUARANTEE win I see is ONLY the bungals n prolly the bills.... I thought the lions but they are a young team on the come up.... The broncos light weight have a "tough" schedule.

I doubt they win vs Miami @ away n also bears n chiefs @ home.....

So 2-14???
Possibly, only reason I gave them the W at the last game of the season is because Chiefs will probably already be in the playoffs and that game won't matter so they won't play hard.

If that game does matter than yeah they are fucked.

Von miller comes from a 3-4 D n John fox is gonna run a 4-3 D. As good as miller is u never know how the transition is goin to be.
Von Miller has been a BEAST so far in camp. Doom seems to be back 100% as well. it will be fun watching them play
oh alright...for some reason, i still had the idea that mike nolan was still the broncos defensive coordinator, and they'd still be employing the 3-4 defense...

so, i'm guessing von miller would probably play strong side linebacker, and elvis dumervil moves back to defensive end?

they have been toying with different spots for Von, but so far he's been gettig to the QB more than yo ucan ask for. A pick 6 in camp, player they thought he should be so far
