I usually cant stand Nicolas Cage but every blue moon he has a decent move. This one probably wont be that movie but theres small a shot it wont suck ass, plus it's a remake so double whammy. Eva Mendes plays a hooker so who knows, maybe some free titty shots at the very least. Comes out next month

Plot Summary: In Werner Herzog's new film "Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans," Nicolas Cage plays a rogue detective who is as devoted to his job as he is at scoring drugs -- while playing fast and loose with the law. He wields his badge as often as he wields his gun in order to get his way. In the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina he becomes a high-functioning addict who is a deeply intuitive, fearless detective reigning over the beautiful ruins of New Orleans with authority and abandon. Complicating his tumultuous life is the prostitute he loves (played by Eva Mendes). Together they descend into their own world marked by desire, compulsion, and conscience. The result is a singular masterpiece of filmmaking: equally sad and manically humorous.

Remake. I'll pass.
I'm usually automatically in the same boat as you with saying that, especially with Nicolas Cage in a "remake" but it's Werner Herzog, I mean, come on.

Plus Cage can be a good actor. He was great in Raising Arizona, Leaving Las Vegas, Weather Man and pretty good in Lord of War.

The thing I don't like is that the original is one of my favorite 90s movies and Harvey Keitel is a sav in it. But from what I understand it is only the same in name though, not really a "remake" so I'll be checking it out.

Plus as I said before, it's Werner Herzog.

Nicolas Cage in 'Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call New Orleans'

I think this movie looks pretty good, but one funny thing i did see in this trailer was, this is Val Kilmers 2nd movie he's been in where he's a cop in New Orleans. The one with 50 Cent.

This looks like the 2010 Version of Harvey Keitel's old school "Bad Lieutenant" which is a bad ass movie. So yeah I'll prolly check this out when it drops. Here's the trailer for the old school version

As I think about it you're right. He makes a great hired killer though, so maybe a "live action" version of "Golgo 13", or an update of John Woo's "Hard-Boiled"
I wouldn't even fuck up Hard Boiled with a remake, that shit is too classic to me.

This movie was horrible all the way around. There is no way I would have finished this if I weren't watching this with someone else. I was ready to give up long before it was over and just watch TV instead or something.

Watch the real "Bad Lieutenant" instead - it is 100 times better.

This one I give .75 out of 5
