Freedom of speech allows for this guy to stand on a street corner and say football is "kinda gay". Freedom of speech does not apply to the workplace in the same way. Companies are allowed to have codes of conduct that include public speech. If your company does not want you to be on national tv saying "that's kinda gay" the constitution is not going to help you keep your job.
