You read that headline right. In our exclusive interview with rapper Tech N9ne and his Strange Music artist Krizz Kaliko, Tech declares Kaliko is the heir to Michael Jackson‘s King of Pop throne. He’s kidding around, of course, but it’s the kind of outburst one can expect from Tech—hip-hop’s most successful independent artist of all time.
The duo are currently celebrating the release of Kaliko’s third album, Shock Treatment, buoyed by the response to the album’s first single, “Elevator.” They talk here about the excitement surrounding the album, the “hip-pop” sound Kaliko has mastered and the true powerhouse that is their label, Strange Music.
