Sony announced a new PS3 SKU at Leipzig. This new bundle will release this November and will retail for $499.99.

The new SKU will come packed with a 160GB HDD, a copy of last falls hit “Uncharted: Drakes Fortune” and a voucher for a free copy of the PSN downloadable game “Pain.” Like the core 80GB, it will not feature any backwards compatibility, so if you want a PS3 that plays PS2 games, you may wanna grab the Metal Gear bundle while it’s still available.

Hmm that might be the one I grab. I was originally planning on getting the $399 SKu and then Uncharted was one of the games i wanted. Essentially, I'll be paying $40 for Pain (never heard of it) and 80 more gigs of space. i don't think I'll need that much space, but whatever.

the backwards compatibility is gone from the new system and not comin back i just bought the 80gb today gotta get a router to connect to the net and the backwards compatibility dont matter to me cause i bought the ps3 to play ps3 games not ps2 and plus i have read its easy to change the hard drive in a ps3 to a bigger one so im glad with my purchase now

Dont really need that much space....
thats what i thought when i got my 120 gb 360,i was barely using 1/4 of my 60gb. but i found out with the fall update that 360 is going to allow to load entire games on the HD so that made me feel a little better. i keep all the games i play most stored on my HD
