has any one heard snoops first tape? where can I get this shit?

Snoop Doggy Dogg's original depute was not "Doggystyle" in 1993. It was "Over The Counter" in 1991. It was essentially some tracks Snoop had done on his own before he came to Death Row and many were early Death Row cuts. "Over The Counter" was never pressed to CD and never really distributed. At this time Death Row had a temporary distribution deal with Time Warner. Compared to the later albums it is sort of an awkward album as far as production and guest appearances. This particular song was recorded in 1990 and produced by DJ Glaze before Death Row. Foesum featured this on a Lost Tape compilation.

I would love to hear this whole album. Ive got an old song called Niggaz Is Like That from Chocolates album. It would have been done after The Chronic and before Doggystyle and Snoop has that old tight flow. Im sure those other songs he did with Chocolate are just as tight....

Niggaz Is Like That has one of the tightest Snoop's verses ever

BTW can somebody explain what 3-2 and the Convicts are doing on this tape? Bushwick was on The Chronic, so it probably has something to with that, but in those days it was not so common to have features outside your city

The Convicts and Geto Boys were out in LA at the time recording thier album with Death Row artists. There was supposed to be Dre production on Geto Boys Til Death Do Us Part...

its that whole DEATH ROW/RAP-A-LOT connect.....
J PRINCE & SUGE been fukin w/each other......

this is the tape that allegedly has a "GODFATHER ENT." label
which proved HARRY-O had something to do with the start of DEATH ROW.....
this is also supposed to be a tape that 1100 copies ended up reaching stores before whatever hadnt sold in like 6 hours were returned to the label.....
ive never actually heard this though, some of yall got it?

What surprises me is that there is absolutely no information about this anywhere, except for that text (which is the description of the tracks on youtube)

One would expect that at least somebody would know about this, if it made it to the stage where a cover was made and the tape was actually produced, even if was never sold, and it would not be 2008 when we finally learn about it

i heard bout this years ago actually.....
but ol boy said the release might be fake but not the actual music so,
it would have never been produced yada yada....
OK, that is good to hear, but if you search the internet there is really nothing about it. If it is true that it was sold for 6 hours, are there any copies surviving until today?
