Even though his album isn’t out until the end of the year DJ Quik is readying the release of his Trauma mixtape which will hopefully create plenty of hype for West Coast Artist.

Trauma mixtape features five new tracks and also traces DJ Quik’s remarkable history by including hits from his decade-plus recording and producing career. Eagerly anticipated by mixtape DJs around the world, Trauma also marks the first time an artist will be mixing and hosting his own mixtape. Only 10,000 copies of the limited edition mixtape, which features artwork from renowned tattoo artist Mr. Cartoon, will be pressed up.

The mixtape is sure to go quick, excuse the pun, so make sure you snap up your copy before they hit eBay at extortionate prices.

The album is, in Quik’s opinion, due to be his best so far. “This record is magical,” explains DJ Quik, “It has tons of air. You won’t feel claustrophobic with this record because there is not a ceiling. This record is as expansive as the universe, but yet as confined as a CD.” Highlights on DJ Quik’s new album include lead single “Fandango," which features B-Real from Cypress Hill and marks the first time these two rap revolutionaries have worked together. The cathartic “Intro For Roger,” the edgy, party-starting “Ladies-N-Thugs” with Wyclef Jean and the sexy “She Pass By” with Nate Dogg are some of the collection’s other standout cuts. Each song reaches the highest level of musical and lyrical expertise.

Quik already has four hit albums, and there’s no reason to expect any less from this. The West is back!!
