TV reports last night had him retireing today. But that's not the case. He won't officially retire today. He may be put on IR for the rest of the year and re-evaluate his options after the season. He's likely out for the rest of the year. Offical word will be coming from the Chiefs this afternoon after practice.

I cant wait to hear official word, he is one of my fantasy backs (L Jordan, S Jackson, R Johnson, P Holmes) and im sitting pretty in 1st place , undefeated in 6 weeks stright

Official word.....i'm listening to the press conference right now.

He is out of football contact for at least 30 days at that time he will be evaluated again. At that time they may determine what happens for the rest of the year. GM Carl Peterson fully expects him to return next year.

edit: sorry he was placed on IR, but may return next year.
