the problem w/ that is soundscans.
what they are is the recorded amount of record
sales 1 gets through record stores. the
more of those are officially recorded, the better our sales are, & the better we can negotiate distribution deals, endorsements, etc. granted, i'd make more money per unit i sell directly, & granted, there's plenty of moms & pops stores that won't record the soundscan sales. but in the long run, when i want to argue my net worth to bigger company's & get a bigger slice of the pie & gain more control & clout in the game,
soundscan sales is necessary. in a nutshell.
