So im up late browsing the channels and i see this moron on tv BET i think talking about making a vow of faith for yourself and god. He wants you to donate $1,000 cash and says that by doing so you will see an increase in your living and payment. He claims that if you make a vow of $1,000 god will reward you with $10,000. I didnt know you could buy a pass from "god" id pay like 2 dollars just to see how many ppl have actually made it to the pathetic level of believing in this kind of shit....

What are your thoughts on these kind of rediculous religous marketing schemes?

I don't think you could even consider it a donation in this case. It's rather an unpromising investment. The fact that you could help someone with your money who is unprivileged should be reward enough. In this case, they don't appeal brotherly love, but selfishness and greed, in order to make money off of dumb people, and i don't think that this is what religion should be about.

Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.

That may be a good idea. I may need to look into a good spamming program.

We could be "The Church of the Latter Day Siccness" or some shit.

I'm sure if we reached one million people we could get $5,000 or more, if done right.

I think there is going to be a big comet coming close to earth in a couple years. We could use that.

are you sure this money is being used for greed?? ?? the bible says alot of true things about giving. Now if this man wants to jump in the way and make promises for God let him. a huge population on earth are making promises on how money will grow, have you not checked your email lately? in addition anyone who thinks a 1000 is going to make 10,000 dollars and does not look behind the dollar, i mean know how money fluctuates, might be greedy themselves.

God will help those who help themselves.

someone was telling me that Benny Hin was on tv doing a pledge drive for his new private jet, I think it was called the "heavan one", like the airforce one, anyways with your thousand dollars that is donated, Benny Hin would personally engrave a replica of the plane and send it to your house. ALSO get this when he was flying in the plane, he would read off the list of the names of the people who donated and pray for those people. Because, being high in the sky, means that he is closer to God.

I feel bad for the fucking idiots that spend money on this shit.

HAHA, For those that consult section 501a Churches, if you ever hear them talking about the 10% tithe which God would give back to his people, don't believe one word they say. They'll tell you 10% of your total income should go to their church, and you should receive it back 10 folds!!!!! BULLSHIT!!!! I'm not going to discourage anyone from going to church so that they can have a better understanding for Christ and life in general, but it's best to soak up knowledge from the bible itself. Beware brothers and sisters of these apostate churches. I'm done going to church or any congregation, but I'll remember to keep Christ always at heart.

Remember folks, I'm not really going to make a big speech here, but if you see any pastor who introduces Christianity with any form of income exchange or tithing, walk away. Cause if anything(Usually I have no say as to what constitutes the "right" teachings) but they should be teaching you about Salvation through Christ and not bullshit like this.

It shames me to see how people hustle using the name of God, but eh that's life.

Fuck a section 501a Church

TRUE TITHING, IS PROVIDING FOR THE POOR, THE IMPRISONED, THE LOST, BASICALLY THE NEEDY!!!!

God Bless

It says in the bible to give 10% of your earnings to the \"church\"

10% of your earnings should go to the \"church\", well, says the scripture.

But is \"the church\" a building or a congregation of believers in Christ?

The church is a congregation of believers, not a building according to scriptures.

Do you need a building to congregate?

NOPE.

These fish-oil, snake handling scam artists that run most \"churches\" in america or elsewhere are nothing but swindlers.

Watch out for that \"Power of Prophecy\" cat on BET early morns on weekends and his \"prayer cloths\".

Those are the frauds that people like Rev Run follow.

I know you\'d love God to be all for hip-hop, gangsta rap...whatever.

I am very much a universalist...what I mean by that is I believe that whatever religion you were taught as a child is the one YOU should follow, as long as you don\'t forsake others\' beliefs.

I believe in the \"five spoked Wheel\".

There are five major religions in the world today with similar, while diffrent in their own ways, they are your way to reaching the promised relief of the after life.
Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, and Islam.

All have contributed negativley and positivley to human devolpment.

One up\'n and such.

this is not true...the bible does not tell you to give 10% of your money..to the church..

HERE: http://www.bible-truths.com/tithing.html

Tithing is Unscriptural Under the New Covenant

[A Scriptural Exposition on the Fraudulent Fleecing of the Flock]

Since first posting this tithing paper on bible-truths.com, we have had hundreds of thousands of visitors seeking information on this topic. Many have written me personally thanking me for freeing them from this illegal and abusive practice of the Church. I have also received emails from some who are sure that tithing is a bonafide legal obligation for members of the New Testament Christian Church.

Objections to my paper range from simply quoting the prophet Malachi sent to the priests and nation of Israel: "Wherein have we robbed Thee? In tithes and offerings. Ye are cursed with a curse…." While others who can find absolutely no Scriptural authority for Christians to tithe, invent clever little doctrines like this:

"Tithing was a form of worship to God, and since we still worship God, we must still tithe."

I will answer this one in one sentence: Since burnt offerings were a form of worshiping God, and since we still worship God, must we still offer burnt offerings to God? ... Ridiculous.

Part II of this paper covers the Malachi prophecy more thoroughly as it concerns the subject of tithing.

just a preview..

Ive read that whole study he did....its really interesting and true.

BTW On topic, I know exactly the show you are talking about. rofl!

Wisdom Keys with Borther GIrard.

What cracks me up is when I was a Christian and much more well read on the Bible I used to watch that show and laugh at how blatantly wrong he was on several issues, misinterpreting and reinterpreting scripture, quoting out of context, etc.
