Rappers now a days try to do too much... they all have solo projects, albums with other aliases, group projects, compilations, mix tapes, guest features, dvds, soundtracks and all their material suffers or it all sounds the same and gets boring...

What happen to them droping 1 album every one or two years... and pouring thier all into making 1 tight album?

I think it's because rap as a whole isn't as diverse as rock, jazz, r&b, etc. It can only change so many times before everything gets played out. Rappers aren't selling as good as they did back in the day so they have to flood the market with dvds, mixtapes, compilations, and on and on. These internet rappers who producer their beats with acid loop and promote their shit on the internet aren't making shit any better.
