Free agent DT Kyle Love tried out for the 49ers on Tuesday.
The 49ers are thin up front after losing NT Ian Williams to a broken ankle. Love started 24 games for the Patriots between 2011-12, and could immediately slide into a reserve role.

Aldon Smith of San Francisco 49ers arrested on suspicion of DUI - ESPN


SAN JOSE, Calif. -- San Jose police say 49ers linebacker Aldon Smith has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.

Sgt. Heather Randol said officers arrested Smith after a solo vehicle crash in the city's Silver Creek area Friday morning. She did not give any additional details.

Smith is also facing a civil lawsuit from a man who says he was shot during a party at Smith's house.

Attorneys for Smith and former 49ers tight end Delanie Walker, who is also named in the suit, say the plaintiff, Ronndale Esporlas, exposed himself to "all risks of harm" by attending the party.

Santa Clara County prosecutors say they are considering criminal charges.

Aldon smith is fucking stupid. Way to fuck things up for your team too.

coach Jim Harbaugh told reporters he expects Aldon Smith to play in Week 3 despite Smith's Friday morning arrest for suspicion of DUI and marijuana possession.
"I expect Aldon to be back at work and play on Sunday," said Harbaugh. The NFL will not intervene on a player's Sunday availability following a Friday arrest because the appeals process can't be expedited that quickly. The actions say it all: The 49ers care about winning over punishment, individual players' decision making, those players' well being, and the well being of the community. Smith gives San Francisco its best chance to win.

Smith still has that lawsuit against him, and this is his 2nd DUI in 3 years. They're thinking a 4 game suspension later in the season.

In an unbelievably knuckleheaded move, Smith partied all night and tried driving to the team facility at 7AM in the morning. He was smashed drunk with weed in the car, passed out at the wheel while hitting a tree, and still didn't wake up, as Smith's foot remained on the accelerator when police arrived.

49ers TE Vance McDonald (ankle) is listed as questionable for Week 3.
The Niners' beat writers expect McDonald to play against the Colts despite the "Q" tag, though his game-day role is uncertain. He's banged up, and starting tight end Vernon Davis (hamstring) is in danger of being inactive.

Davis still hasn't received medical clearance, and beat writer Matt Barrows believes he's the "least likely" of San Francisco's four questionable players to be active versus Indy.



49ers FS Eric Reid (concussion) is listed as questionable for Week 3.
Reid says he's symptom free with only one test to pass before receiving medical clearance following Sunday night's scary brain injury. "I have to check back tomorrow," Reid said. "So it’s just a waiting game." Reid has been one of the NFL's most impressive defensive rookies through two weeks.

Aldon is fuckin up. Someone needs to set his ass straight. I hope he doesn't get suspended. Just say you have an "alcohol problem," take a few AA classes, pay your fines, and continue on with playing football. If Donte Stallworthless can get away with murder, a second slap on the wrist is OK for Aldon

It's all bad when you get caught. Can't tell by his play on the field that he has an abuse problem. Maybe he plays better with weed and alcohol in his system....

Think of it this way: Aldon Smith was arrested at 7 am, 1 hour AFTER Kaepernick usually starts his work.
