New Line Cinema

Can someone please explain to me what happened to New Line Cinema film studios? I always thought they were one of the top dogs in the industry now they shut down? I know its been going on for a minute but I just heard about it on the new nightmare on elm street doc.

They got bought up by AOL Time Warner, now just Warner Brothers. They still use the logo and the name, but thats it.

So Bob Shaye is basically retired? They had to make a ton of money from Lord of the Rings. I wonder how much they sold it for.
