Mystikal is facing criminal charges that he extorted and raped a woman.
Michael Tyler A/K/A Mystikal, turned himself in early Thursday accompanied by his attorney and was booked on one count each of extortion and aggravated rape. He was later released on $250,000 bond.
Mystikal is accused of attacking a 40-year old acquaintance who came to his house on July 3 around 8pm. After phoning friends to join him at his home, Mystikal allegedly raped the woman in front of them and forced her to orally copulate him. Police say two men joined Mystikal in assaulting the woman. Allegedly, one of the his friends also raped her and the other sexually assaulted her.
Police allege Mystikal used threats of prosecuting the alleged victim with checks he claimed she stole from him.
"During the attacks, the victim was repeatedly threatened with prosecution of the checks and great bodily harm. The victim was allowed to leave the residence after the attacks. She was treated and released at a local hospital," officals allege.
The two friends of the hip-hop star accused facing rape and sexual assault charges are identified as Leland Ellis, 36, and Vercy Carter, 34, of Baton Rouge. Both men turned themselves in and were booked Thursday morning, police said. Their bond has not yet been determined.

Rapper Mystikal is being accused of rape and extortion. But police say he may also have videotaped the alleged attack. Police in Baton Rouge, La., said the woman who claims she was raped by Mystikal and two of his friends said the rapper recorded part of the alleged assault. Police say they confiscated a videotape from the rap star's home — and it confirms the allegations.
Mystikal, whose real name is Michael Tyler, was booked late last week on rape and extortion charges. He has been released on a $250,000 bond. As he was led from police headquarters on Thursday, he denied the allegations. If convicted of the rape charge, he would face a mandatory life sentence. The penalty for extortion carries a prison term of one to 15 years. Two other men, Leland Ellis and Vercy Carter are also accused in the case.
