Raider Says He Tokes 'Every Blue Moon'

NEW YORK -- Oakland Raiders receiver Randy Moss is grabbing headlines again.
Moss says in an upcoming interview on HBO's "Real Sports with Bryant Gumble" that he used marijuana since entering the NFL.
Moss tells Gumble that he smokes marijuana "once every blue moon." Moss spoke after practice Thursday and says he was talking about the past, and that he was referring to college and high school, not the pros.
Moss's agent tells The Associated Press that HBO "maliciously couched the remarks in a manner that is confusing and leaves room for negative interpretation."
When pressed whether he still smokes marijuana, the star receiver with the checkered past said: "I might."
The former Minnesota Viking went on to say that he doesn't abuse the drug. He also said he doesn't want kids to use it.
The NFL's drug policy calls for up to 10 tests a month after one positive result. A second violation results in a fine equal to the player's salary for four games and a third would net a four-game suspension. A player caught a fourth time would face a year's suspension.
Moss has never been suspended for violating the policy.
The receiver was traded from the Vikings to Oakland in early March. He was limited by a hamstring injury last season and finished with 49 catches for 767 yards and 13 touchdowns. It was the first time in his seven seasons he didn't reach 1,000 yards receiving.
Last year, Moss was fined $10,000 for pretending to pull down his pants and moon the Green Bay crowd during Minnesota's playoff win over the Packers. He also drew criticism for leaving the field with two seconds left in a regular-season loss against Washington.
Other episodes include bumping a Minneapolis traffic control officer with his car in 2002, verbally abusing corporate sponsors on a team bus in 2001 and dousing an NFL referee with a water bottle in 1999.
