brian kenny is a good boxing analyst, he knows his shit for the most part. Him and Mayweather have had beef going back several years, so it didn't start just from that interview. Most of his complaints have been echoed throughout the boxing community as far as floyd picking on a smaller guy like Marquez (although it's hypocritical to diss floyd for fighting marquez, then go on to demand floyd fights Pacquiao who is the same size as marquez).

Regardless, you must admit Floyd comes off like a arrogant dickhead most of the time.

good point i just dont like how everybody in the media is riding pac man's dick like hes undefeated and untouchable when hes been knocked down twice and out boxed by marquez & morales matter fact pacquio didnt even want to fight marquez a third time i think if the fight does go down mayweather will put on the boxing lesson of a life time...

Pacquiao's two losses when he was knocked down have no relevance today, he was a teenager in both fights. The first one was back in 1996 when Pacquiao was 17 years old and weighed 106 pounds!!! The second one was in 1999 at 112 pounds, Pac was so weight drained for that fight that after losing he jumped three weight classes (that should tell you how unfit he was for the 112 pound division and his body simply outgrew it as he got older). Besides, Pac has evolved so much as a fighter since then, he's really is in peak form today and is nothing like he was all those years ago (pre-Freddie Roach).

Further, being undefeated is so overrated in boxing and usually means you never fought the best opponents (Joe Calzaghe is a perfect example of that and so is mayweather to a lesser extent). ALL of the all time great fighters have several losses (Ali= 5 losses, ray robinson= 17 losses, Joe Louis= 3 losses, sugar ray leonard= 3 losses, etc etc etc).

I seriously doubt mayweather would school Pac, Pac is the one guy that can match floyd in speed and athleticism. It would be a good fight, could go either way imo.

I'm glad to see Mayweather react like that. He would always dodge these points, but 13 minutes was a good amount of time to dig at him and get a reaction. He did have some valid points, but so did Kenny.

Good interview...

yeah but pac doesn't call himself that and most all the mexican legends backed pacquiao when he fought oscar de la hoya.

Besides, Pac is Mexican at heart, he even sings the national anthem:

IMO boxing fans (myself included) can thank the UFC for putting on full fight cards, and not 5 filler fights with one main event.

That forced the movers & shakers in the boxing world to better their product.

Which is just what they've done in 2009, with the exception of the Tarver-Dawson rematch.

all the shit before ufc (dont remember the names) was filler and one good match...but with that said i wasnt following it like that and i usually knew the headliners

i really just wanna see hand to hand and not hella on-my-back shit...i can respect grappling and etc but its just not what im looking for.

the only time i even like the ground move shit is when someone turns it around and brings it back to their feet

I like MMA and all but it takes more talent to box imo. The only thing wrong with boxing was the ppv's cuz none of the undercard fights usually are any good. Boxing still needs to step there shit up more on ppv's, they should have 2 title fights no matter what and the one thats not the main event at least have a known fighter fighting.

yeah boxing PPV's still need to step it up a bit, mostly it's just Golden Boy PPV's that are weak though, because it's all about the main event which are normally super fights, and the undercard they just showcase their up & comer fighters against some bum to make them look good.

It's also because in boxing, the stars make soooooooooo much more money than MMA fighters, they can demand a huge majority percentage of the purse, so that means there isn't much money left over to pay the undercard fighters (thus why you see a lot of up & comer guys against bums).

But, the Marquez/Mayweather undercard should be pretty decent. Zab Judah is fighting, rumors are against Mathew Hatton (Ricky Hatton's brother) and Joan Guzman may possibly be fighting Juan Baby Bull Diaz (but that's unconfirmed). Judah recently signed to Mayweather promotions or whatever the hell it's called and rumor is Joan Guzman will be signing too (he trained with Mayweather sr. and mayweather jr. gave a lot of props to Guzman saying he's the closest fighter to him style wise). If those go through they should both be highly entertaining bouts.

Definitely, just in terms of the talent pool in boxing, its much much deeper than it is in MMA.

Mostly because its been around for so much longer.

But MMA is definitely breeding a lot of new young talent, especially now that the base in styles for the sport is pretty much well known (wrestling, boxing,BJJ, and muay thai/kickboxing)
