FUCK THE YANKEES AND RED SOX!

I am so sick and tired year after year, its the same fuckin' teams in the mix for the games best players. How come this isn't a bigger issue then it is?

The rich get richer, while the poor stay poorer.

The Giants did win the WS this past season, Im glad they did.

But....................

We all know (anyone other then Giants fans) that it was just a flash in a pan and there is a 90% chance of it not happening again anytime soon.

Not hating at all, Im just stating the obvious with the way the game is setup in this day n' age.

Well today's baseball is more reliant on pitching/defense than hitting. Look at how the Giants dominated the Braves, Phillies and Rangers hitters.

well considering the mets yankees and red sox have highest payrolls, how'd that work last 11 years? 4 championships less than 40% rate, add high spending phillies and thats 5 in 11 years for the 4 teams, less than 50% rate.

i'd say its rather foolish to spend so much. obvously it gets you better chance to win, but in the end its still a 50-50 chance

all these high spending teams are doing is buying their way into the playoffs. once in the playoffs anything can happen.

when teams spend outrageous amounts of money on free agents...all it does is raise the price for the other free agents out there. meaning the lower end teams have to overpay for their free agents. they cannot get in a bidding war with the big boys because they have no shot at winning. meanwhile b and c list free agents get contracts they don't deserve from those same lower tier teams....putting those franchises in a financial bind for years to come.

SMALL MARKET TEAMS CANNOT COMPETE WITH BIG MARKET TEAMS OVER TIME.

"But the whole theme that some teams TRY to win while other DO NOT TRY to win -- well, even if there is some truth in that statement, it's almost certainly overblown. Let's put it this way:

• If you had to pick one team out there that is TRYING to win, you probably would say the New York Yankees.

• If you had to pick one team out there this is NOT TRYING to win, you would probably say the Kansas City Royals.

OK, well, last year, according to the Forbes numbers, the Yankees made $441 million in revenue* and spent about $416 million on baseball. That means they spent 94.4% of their revenue on baseball, a nice high percentage.

And the Royals? Well, they only made $155 million in revenue, and they spent about 146 million. That means they spent 94.3% of their revenue on baseball."

Royals also had the 20th highest payroll in baseball last season...with outrageous contracts to jose guillen (12 million a year) and gil meche (11 million per year). Proves my point that lower end teams have to overpay average free agents to go there...lol

Just look at the Werth and Nationals deal.

Really? Because the strength of this team, pitching, is all intact, young, locked up and will be be even better next year.

I blame it mainly on the Yankees, there the ones that give players outrageous contracts and it jacks up the price on all the other players

hey let them beat the shit out of each other in the AL East... Cause the Giants get the same berth into the post season by winning the NL West as these billion dollar teams get in the that other division.. then..... IT COMES DOWN TO PITCHING!!!!!!

We got action..... fuck a payroll over 200 million!!!

90% chance the giants don't win again? That might be a little high.

The core of the team is under team control for the near future with Lincecum, Cain, Sanchez and Bumgarner in the rotation, Posey and possibly Brandon Belt, not to mention Wilson.

A HIGH PAYROLL DONT MEAN SHIT. THE YANKEES HAVE HAD THE HIGHEST PAYROLL IN THE MAJORS FOR DECADES. IT GETS THEM CHAMPIONSHIPS BUT YOU GET TEAMS LIKE THE GIANTS AND RAYS COMPETING AND WINNING ON A LOWER BUDGET MORE OFTEN THAN NOT. WHEN THE ANGELS BEAT FRISCO IN 2002, MOST THERE TALENT WAS ALL ACQUIRED THROUGH THERE MINORS...WITHOUT NO REAL SUPERSTAR.
YOU STILL HAVE TO HAVE A GOOD MANAGER AND OF COURSE PITCHING.

10th in payroll cause of 3 players. 1 of which wasnt on our post season roster. 1 was a bench player and 1 SHOWED UP in the world series but for the season he was a ghost too in Zito, rowand and renteria..... you remove them and our roster was less than 70 million.

Funny how everyone is still talking bout the red sox and yankees and I have not heard ONE thing about the Giants winning the world series since their parade. It's like they want to just forget about last season since none of the big name teams won the world series.
