Bradley is a legit welterweight now he was a welterweight champion when Pacquiao beat him.

As for Rios and Chris, comes down to a lack of Top Rank welterweights. Al Haymon has every welterweight that Pacquiao hasn't already fought - Thurman, Alexander, Khan, etc.

That's why I said pages ago if Pacquiao doesn't get this Mayweather fight he's screwed as far as his next opponent goes. The only guys left are 135/140, Crawford and Garcia (although Garcia is currently trying to get out if his contract and sign with Haymon I believe). Ruslan. And shitty ass Vargas. So in that sense I do agree with you there us a real sense of urgency and Pacquiao should sign a contract even if it's a low ball offer because he's got no one else to fight. I'd negotiate as best as possible and take the best deal they can get.
Oh shit...I didn't just read this? You said Bradley is a legit welter weight??? Who has he stopped or who has he even hurt at 147lbs? But if I remember correctly you might have stated that Pacquiao was fighting out of his division and was actually to small for welterweight...even though he has displayed more power than Bradley ever has at 147lbs?

His last 5 fights were at welterweight, he was a champion at 147, he's ranked at welterweight and he's campaigning at 147 so clearly he's a welterweight. Pacquiao has been at 147 for 5 years clearly he's a legit welterweight too. Don't confuse and/or mix up my words. Both Bradley & Pacquiao are small welterweights and both could easily fight at 140 if they wanted to, but they are welterweights nonetheless. And everyone has more power than Bradley at any weight (besides Paulie), that doesn't have to do with his size or weightclass it has to do with his punching technique. Dude is built like a tank obviously but doesn't have KO power.

Not to mention two gold medals at 147.

Really fucken close!!!! Mayweather hopefully agrees to terms. No reason really for him to decline, got the split he wanted most likely

Manny Pacquiao agrees to terms for Mayweather fight

Boxing promoter Bob Arum has reportedly said Manny Pacquiao has agreed to terms for a fight with Floyd Mayweather, according to Yahoo Sports. Arum said Mayweather's representatives have agreed to the deal and are only waiting on Mayweather to approve the terms as well.
The bout would take place on May 2 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas and Mayweather would have a 60/40 split of the purse, according to the report.
"I want to get some movement here, with bringing Mayweather to the table so we can go out and get everything signed and get the networks together and get the thing finished," Arum told Yahoo Sports Tuesday.
Arum went on to say he is trying to prevent similar events from preventing the mega fight that have in the past.
"The point is that I don't want what happened the other times to happen again," Arum said. "I want this fight to actually happen. I want everybody to make a lot of money on the fight. I want the public to be satisfied. And I think it will be a terrific event. That's what I want, and I've done everything in my power to make that happen."
Arum also noted the ball is now in Mayweather's court to get this done.
"I think Manny has been very reasonable and demonstrated that he wants the fight to happen. Now, we're waiting on Floyd. That's not to say that Floyd has been obstinate, that Floyd won't do it, but we're waiting on him."

Of course Manny agreed. Manny wants the fight. There are still networks involved, Al Haymon, and fighters Haymon needs to satisfy (Khan, Thurman, Lara). I'm pretty sure Haymon promised all of them fights with Floyd.

I just realized, if Manny is just NOW agreeing to everything, it seems we would be quite a ways out from a fight actually being made. As Battle said, there are still a lot of people involved here. Even if Manny agreed to Floyd's counteroffer, I wouldn't be surprised if Floyd is like "wait, we also want these things too..."

The head of CBS put pressure on Al Haymon and the networks ironing things out are probably more simpler than the fighters doing it.
Let's hope Team Mayweather are just going through the process of dotting all the i's and crossing the t's. If so, 2015 will make up for all the previous crap years we've had to deal with. Imagine just for a moment: Mayweather vs Pacquiao, Canelo vs Cotto, Chavez vs Froch, Golovkin vs Murray & Canelo, Deontay Wilder becoming WBC Heavyweight Champion, boxing back on NBC (Broner/Garcia/Thurman/Guerrero/others), Kovalev vs Pascal & Kovalev vs Stevenson, Roc Nation putting Andre Ward back in the ring and building a strong boxing fan-base in Brooklyn/New York in general getting people excited about boxing, etc etc etc.

Could be an epic year. Cod knows we deserve it.

Cut the crap. If Team Pacquiao isn't lying then it's all up to Floyd. Everything does sounds good so far.

TEAM MAYWEATHER CONFIRM DEAL IS CLOSE

So Bob Arum wasn't lying...

“They’re putting it together now,” Watson said. “They’re going to do a Showtime-HBO [joint pay-per-view] like they did last time with Lennox Lewis and Mike Tyson. They’re working on the monies now and everything they’ve got to work on to make it happen.

“I can’t wait. It’s going to be huge.”

This still seems totally unbelievable. Every time I logon to the sicc or Twitter I'm expecting the announcement to be made and I've been very reluctant to get my hopes up.

I hate to put the cart before the horse, but are any of y'all planning to go to Vegas? I might have screwed myself by taking 4 classes this semester, especially if the fight is May 2nd in terms of my chances of being able to go, but bills don't pay themselves.

Well if it happens it's gonna be one hell if a bday party for myself (May 1st). I've been watching Mayweather on my bday for like 5 years now but this would one would obviously be the biggest by far. I may consider going to Vegas not sure yet you know it's gonna be crackin
