Closing Comments
Madden NFL 10 packs a lot of football under its 60 dollar price tag. While some of the modes don’t perform as well as I’d like, every football fan will still be able to latch on to something for months of fun. The graphics have taken a nice step forward from Madden 09 and the presentation does a wonderful job of emulating the experience of watching a game on Sunday. Commentary and general voiceover work is pretty bad, but it doesn’t overly dampen the gameplay. Madden NFL 10 doesn’t redefine the series or innovate in any monumental way, but that doesn’t stop it from being a truly great football game.

IGN Ratings for Madden NFL 10 (X360)
Rating Description
out of 10 click here for ratings guide

9.0 Presentation
So good you’ll think you’re sitting on your couch watching a game on Sunday. A few issues hold it back, but most of the additions are great.

9.0 Graphics
Without the slowdown, occasional clipping and texture issues this game would be pretty damn close to perfection.

7.5 Sound
The soundtrack is a solid compilation but the commentary duo needs serious work before hitting the gridiron next season. Stadiums are as alive as ever.

9.0 Gameplay
Some questionable structural decisions in a few of the modes hurt an otherwise extraordinary package. On-field action is fantastic to behold.

8.5 Lasting Appeal
If co-op and Superstar were designed better, this game would have a nearly limitless lifespan. As it is Online Franchise, Franchise, standard online play and Madden Moments will keep you plenty busy.

8.9
Great OVERALL
(out of 10 / not an average)

I think it is pretty common knowledge that the graphics really don't progress that much...its what they put into the game play that is supposed to be the big jump.
I'm not only talking about graphics I'm also talking about gameplay (how people run, get tackled, etc.). Looks the same with very minor differences. This is why Madden should come out every 2 years and just update the game in the year between. Or at least sell the game for $30 instead of $60+

It's pretty much the same shit with better graphics and a few new animations. There are better looking tackles and better looking catches. The broken tackles are pretty clean (if you have a good ass ball carrier you can break gang tackles with 4 or 5 guys on you sometimes). The QBs now have their own movements (Peyton Manning moves like Peyton Manning, etc..). There are more attributes for the QBs. The commentating is the same as last year's with some new lines thrown in to acknowledge the fact that it's a new year. All the ratings for the players are more realistic (there aren't a whole lot of players rated in the 90s). If you like playing franchise mode, your players will develop more in Madden 10 than they did in previous versions. They develop most in their first few seasons and they start to decline when they start getting old. The biggest letdown is all the plays are the same from what I can tell, which is whack.

All in all it's better than last year's game, but not by huge margins.

they should just NOT release a new one every year, its hella unnecessary...you can already update the rosters online, so if they just did that and released a new game when they actually had some decent upgrades to the game, then it would be alot better

You're right but as long as people keep buying them in droves yearly they'll keep selling them..
