dosent protools require hardware?
correct me if im wrong here

your absolutely right! but with Pro Tools M-Powered you can buy a sound card/interface set-up for as cheap as 100-200 dollars.. i would spend the 200 on an old mbox because you get mic/line inserts plus headphone and speaker outs... and the preamps are dope for the price... plus the the converters arent bad... but m-powered is almost as powerful as LE now..

like the other dude said.. thats all fine and dandy... but to run 32 to tracks simaltaneously w/ plugins and a low latency rate your gonna need a computer that can handle running all that at once.. a 2 year old personal computer filled w/ porno, mp3's, and spyware wont cut it... I have a G5 Mac designated to only run my pro tools software, cd/dvd burning software, Final Cut Pro... the only time i go online w/ it is to update or download software/plugins.. and to send out MP3'S, Wavs, and zip files..

and if u think ur gonna learn pro tools in 6 hours, your a complete moron.. you'll get some basic skills, but it takes some cats a whole lifetime to really be an expert... i learn something everytime i do a session... cheers.....

my boy got an m audio interface....the m powered pro tools that came wit it was jus a light version not even the whole thing....rip off if you ask me....might as well jus go all out and get a digi 01 or 02......

and like you said you have to have your comp in top performance to run this......and you still aint gonna become no professional engineer or producer in 6 hours.....some of it is natural talent and ear for music and the rest is lots of time and patience wit hands on experience....
