John Morrison being compared to Shawn Michaels
Posted by Randy Gordon on 12/02/2008 at 06:36 PM

Jim Ross posted another blog over at JRsBarBQ.com. Below are some highlights:

-Ross on Monday's WWE Raw: "Overall, I thought Raw was a solid broadcast but at times it felt like I was being overwhelmed with content. That might be more of an indication of my age or the way I enjoy watching TV and less an indictment on the program. Sometimes I think many wrestling shows cram too much in their hour or two hour format and forget that the vast majority of the viewers have much info to retain in their lives in a 144 hour week."

-Ross on John Morrison: "Watching John Morrison Monday night, I thought back to the early, early days of HBK and how athletic, quick and innovative Shawn was early in his career which made many of us feel that he was going to be a star from the beginning. Morrison will never, like HBK, be the biggest dog in the fight, but offensive innovation and being unique could take Morrison a long way. I wish he was a Friday night regular but that's my personal bias coming thru. If John Morrison can approach Shawn Michaels' level of success, Morrison will then have had a helluva run."

-Ross on the Tribute to the Troops show: "Many within the the WWE are bound for Iraq, I assume, for the annual 'Tribute to the Troops' which will air on NBC later in December. Each individual that makes the trip will come back a better person from what others have told me about their experience of interacting with the troops who so bravely serve our country. I would love to make this trip someday before all is said and done for me in the business. I could always arrange a trip after my WWE days come to a close so there is always hope. My friend Toby Keith goes over to entertain our troops regularly so perhaps I could hitch a ride with my fellow Oklahoman. Nonetheless I admire all the people in the WWE who make this journey and for what they do for the Armed Forces."

imo

I always said morrison was gonna be big soon as he gets the right push. Bc he do remind me of the 90's hbk from his moves to his mic skills. Shit when he had the ECW world strap(before he was suspended and dropped it to punk) I saw the next hbk.

All they need to do now is make him a singles wrestler again bc shitty miz is holding him back. but I think they doing the treatment of giving him tag team appeal bc all the greats all had a nice tag team run before single.

I can see Orton, Cena, Morrison, Edge, CM Punk, Hardys, Kofi, Dibease jr, maybe kennedy & rhodes all top stars in wwe in a few years. after taker, hbk, hhh, Bastista, Jericho step down

yea edge and orton are top stars and former world champs but imo they still got a bright future ahead of them and more to offer the business in the years to come. they still havent had they blockbuster match yet.

damn I forgot about Umaga. yeah Mag is tight and make a strong heel they started using him wrong in the last months before his injury he suppose to comeback anytime and fuck up the undertaker. I like Great Khali also but they use him the wrong way.if you ask me they should make Manu affiliated with Umaga(possibly a stable)

All of you are forgetting Santino Marella. That mother fucker makes every wrestler with mic skills look like an amateur. Watch his body movement. He immediately adapts to the crowds atmosphere within seconds. Dude's seriously dope.

they should give santino his own show, his mic skills are great. he makes me laugh without question every time he talks

as far as morrison goes, the guy is definatly a great talent and should get more attention than being in the tag team division. him and the miz are the best tag team i've seen in a long ass time though in the ring and on the mic, both those guys are hilarious too

Dude can actually wrestle. I don't know why WWE doens't let him. You should search for his OVW clips. He had a kurt angle-like style before tha E called him up.
I know about his OVW days(his name was like ALex bullicia or some stuff) he had a Russian gimmick he use to have the ufc shoot fight character and used to feud with mike cruel in ovw. remember im in cincy and one of they training camps was up here back then.

I like the gimmick he has right now, he's the most entertaining dude in WWE right now. He just just wrestle the style he had in OVW. Kurt Angle pulled off the "goofy on the mic but serious in the ring" gimmick back in his early days so I'm sure that Santino can do it too.

Dont forget each wrestler in wwe has a certain position and job to potray so they dont wanna make a mid carder like santino look too strong or get over in the ring more then cena and the other main eventers.

damn santino does have some moves, thats a trip. i dont think he could pull off his goofy promos and be a bad ass in the ring at the same time
