TAYLOR TO REDSKINS FOR SECOND-ROUND PICK
Posted by Michael David Smith on July 20, 2008, 6:30 p.m. EDT

Jay Glazer of Fox Sports is reporting that the Washington Redskins and Miami Dolphins have agreed to the terms of a trade that would send defensive end Jason Taylor to Washington in exchange for a second-round draft pick.

The teams are hoping to finalize the deal tonight, Glazer reports.

Taylor has long been disgruntled with the Dolphins and would like to play for a team that’s coming off a playoff season, not a 1-15 record. Rumors swirled in April that he could be traded during the NFL draft, but no trade was consummated.

The Redskins, however, suddenly became interested in acquiring Taylor when they lost two defensive ends to season-ending injuries at the outset of training camp.

good pick up considerin both their DE's just got hurt n 1 is out for the year.

Exactly! We always seem to pick up big names when they're pretty much on the lower end of their careers. Snyders wants quick fixes instead of working with younger players and building talent through the draft. I see the passion Danny Snyder has for the franchise, but he does things the wrong way IMO which in turn, turns out nothing but over paid players who don't create much buzz on the field for my team. Jason Taylor is a great football player and a very good upgrade from what we have/had in recent memory, but he's almost 34 years of age and who knows how much more he has left in the tank. Hopefully he can give some well needed help on the front line of our defense cuz we're really thinned out with the loss of Phillip Daniels and the injury to Buzbee.
