If Jordan was in his prime today, he would average over 40-45 points a game

Easily. With all the pussy rules in place today and the fact hardly anyone plays defense (or is allowed to), Jordan would be unstoppable.

You have to remember MJ played at a time when there were GREAT defensive teams in the NBA, you had to be or you couldn't compete. Very physical teams like the Knicks, etc. Back when he played they had REAL centers too, Ewing, Olajuwon, Alonzo Morning, David Robinson, etc. and he average what? 35-37 something like that in his time? Today's stars just couldn't compete with that.

you're sounding and trolling like skip bayless right now.

Jordan's numbers are a bit inflated due to the higher pace (more possessions per game) of that era.

Not to mention all that handchecking is what allowed him to rack up defensive achievements, and why players averaged many more steals back then than they do now.

Also worth noting that Zone was abolished just before Jordan entered the league, and then reinstated after he left it. The Celtics/Bulls defensive style would have been illegal in Jordan's day.

also ironlungs google a response for this:
kobe never plays defense, show me a video where he does
only thing the nigga does is shoot and then wait to get back on offense. thats it
with the mental toughness and heart of the current nba roster, jordan could easily put up those numbers.

I absolutely agree but his age has caught up with him, there is a video at a camp recently where all of the students asked him to dunk and he did but he was limping from it..

I'd say his PPG would be about 10-20 realistically..hes not going to be dunking like he use to thats for sure..

lol dumb ass i was responding to his statement about all the players he named with the exact statement made in that thread. He just changed the words a little. Why do you think i made the skip bayless reference i had seen that thread a while back when this conversation came up on ESPN can jordan average 45 a game in todays game. followed by can jordan score a 100 in a game.
