I'd like to hear people's opinions on the identity of Melchezidek. I've heard various interpretations, one of them being that he's a precarnate theophany of Christ. I know some of the Apochrypha goes into greater detail of his identity, but I don't care much for Gnosticism, and I don't put too much credibility on Gnostic mythology. Anyway, what do you guys think? Who was this "Prince of Salem?"

i dont see how this thread slipped through the cracks.

the priesthood that he held is different than the order of aaron(levitical). melchisedek brings wine and bread. aaron sacrifices bulls and lambs.
