I got a broken PS3 what next?

my folks had a 120 gb PS3 but it stopped workin a month ago..i guess it just doesnt turn on..n e ways instead of turnin it in his girl jus bought him a new one. He gave me the old one..can i send it in? will it cost? imma try and sell it broken see what i can get for it but i want the fuckin blu ray
