how to get beats copywriten

thanks for the info sick wid it. Fill me in on something if you could. Now if I have just a beat (w/o any rappin or singin) and I want to get that copywriten which form would I have to fill out? From what Ive read I think I would have to fill out the SR Form, but I could be wrong.

I think you should go with the performing arts copyright, since it protects the composition (music) itself, not the recording like the sr does. It shows that you wrote the music if someone replays one of your tracks.

not really i've seen a producer get mess out of his PA copyright when the label filled out their SR form cause they copyrighted everything at once and made the producer sign a work for hire contract which by law sign over his pa rights to his own work.
for the low low cost of $500.00 a track. and that track went on to sell over 1,000,000 copies. (my mind playing tricks on my/ geto boys.)
