They don't have mega boxing event ppv #'s with almost all of their ppv events, even for their biggest cards.
That isn't their goal anyways. If you look at overall PPV sales through the year, the UFC has been getting more PPV buys than boxing for the past 4 years and running.

That's the reason why they put on 12+ shows a year. The shows have been selling at a consistent rate, as well.

Why?

The best fighters are fighting each other, and the best fights that can be made, are getting done. Of course MMA isn't as big as boxing; boxing is engrained into American culture...and there's still a huge chunk of people in the US who think MMA is human cockfighting.

They're definitely appealing to the Mexicans by putting the flag on there though, it's all cash. You also have to think about, what if he wins? He's gonna need a fanbase if they want to feature the next "baddest man on the planet" as a ppv headliner. It's business wise

Most definitely. Its sort of a win-win for the UFC, because if Brock wins, well...he's hands down the cash cow of the UFC. If Cain wins, it opens up the door to the Latino market having a Mexican-American as the heavyweight champ.

Why in all the commercials for the PPV do they have a Mexican flag over the UFC logo, when Cain was born in the US? I understand they're probably trying to cater to Mexican-American's but, he wasn't born there...

It's because a lot of people don't care where he was born. These fighters were born by parents who came from another country and raised their children around their heritage, culture, language, etc. He's not American-Mexican, he's Mexican-American. The Mexican part is his blood, his culture, his heritage, etc. and the American part is his citizenship. That's just the way it is.
