Udonis Haslem, who has spent his entire basketball career with the Miami Heat, was arrested late Sunday afternoon following a traffic stop and faces multiple charges.
Haslem and passenger Antwain Fleming were arrested after Haslem was stopped for speeding and an illegal window tint, according to FHP spokesman Sgt. Mark Wysocky.
Haslem was traveling eastbound in a 2008 Mercedes on the Gratigny between 42nd and 57th Avenue at about 3:05 p.m. when a FHP Trooper pulled him over. During the stop the Trooper smelled marijuana and conducted a search.
Haslem was charged with speeding, Illegal Window Tinting and marijuana possession. Fleming was also charged with marijuana possession.
Both men were taken to a Miami Dade County Jail. Haslem was processed and released around 10:30 p.m.
Celebrity website TMZ claims three other people were in the car with Haslem at the time of the traffic stop, and that officers had to search the car three times before the drugs were found. TMZ cites its sources and claims 20 grams of marijuana was found.
Haslem has spent all seven seasons of his NBA career with the Heat, and re-signed a four-year deal this summer after turning down offers from Dallas and Denver. He joins the team's core of Wade, Chris Bosh and LeBron James.
The Heat have not yet made a statement about the incident
