Im using a roland jp8000,if you aint familiar with it,if you bought quiks album on the inside he has a picture with two keyboards the one his feet are resting on is the roland jd800 as been reviewed by readers here http://www.sonicstate.com/synth/rolandjd800.cfm, and the one quik has on his lap is what I use the roland jp8000 as seen here http://www.sonicstate.com/synth/roland_jp8000.cfm what I like about it is not only do you get a ribbon controller, but a pitch bend that withstand the tests of time unlike the triton,It is analog modelling synth, but is well respected by those who not only know its capabilities but know how to create the sounds.Right now I use it to control a motif rack and a tx81z rack,i know you can assign midi controll on all its knobs and sliders and there are plenty.. right now It controls the filters on the motif, and adjusting the two sliders can really tweak the motif sounds with ease you can pick one up for under 300 on ebay, the only way i would part with it is to trade for rack version, then I would still need a midi keyboard and it would have to be the roland fantom x.
