i never bought a kit i bought the wires individually from some random guy in a car audio forum who was selling "big 3 upgrade kits", they were 1/0 wires. i think i had a 150amp or 200amp fuse in between the alternator and battery

im talking about the wire between the battery and amp, but some quick research shows that i should be ok with 8 gauge wire and a 100A fuse
not sure, pretty sure there was a fuse inside of the actual amp so i only put one in between the alternator and the battery. thats hte most important one, you should have one there no matter what that way your car doesnt catch on fire if some shit goes crazy

oh wait, now i remember, i most definitely did have a fuse between the amp and battery, as well as the amp having its own fuse, and as well as there being a fuse between the alternator and the battery.

fuses kick ass. i blew out the fuse between the amp and the battery a few times. its kind of funny you hear a little pop then theres no bass at all anymore lol, amp completely cut off from receiving power

and fuses are cheap. i would keep yourself like 2-3 fuses as back up. never know when it'll go out, you might be on a long road trip or something then POP no bass. pull over and disconnect your battery and put a new fuse in right quick, good as new

im not planning on doing the big 3 upgrade or anything because its done fine without it for a while
i did the big 3 upgrade and it was like WHAM five times as much bass. no more headlight dimming, no more other weird shit. then my alternators started getting destroyed every other week. tried to upgrade to a bigger alternator but couldnt figure out how to get it wired correctly cause i had to wire a custom alternator harness for it. then i just said fuck it and gave up. it wasnt worth the hassle. plus my old ass cadillac was starting to have problems anyway from driving that shit like 100 miles everyday
