lol @ only 1 more power shot, trout landed some of those? Must of not phased canelo becuase I don't remember ever seeing him rattled or hurt from trouts "power shots". Yet there was a few times trout looked like he might do the stanky leg again.

To the untrained eye...most observes didn't realize that Trouts work to the body had Canelo backing up and hurt...Trout showed a more varied game in the beginning of the fight from rounds 1-5 ...and Trout MADE Canelo come forward by out jabbing him as Canelo CHOSE to back away in the early rounds...as Tout had success with his jab Canelo could no longer sit back and wait he had to make up ground...What changed Trout's game was not Canelo but the open score cards...I have a hard time giving a fight to a fighter who is out worked and out maneuvered through much of the bout...and to those who say that a fighter should be penalized for lack of power? O thought this was boxing and to score you had to hit your opponent with the mound of your glove...if you do that more times than the other fighter...you win the round...eventually you win the fight. This looked like Pacquiao vs Bradley all over again...I gave that fight to Bradley for the same reason...I like Canelo but to me he looks eerily like Cotto with this stamina issue and lastly for him to give up rounds 10,11,12 just like Manny with Bradley and have such a wide discrepancy in scoring...is crazy. Can't wait to see Canelo vs Floyd later this year.

It's crazy that trout is 27 years old and in 26 fights had never been knocked down. Who knew it was going to be a 22 year old to put him on the canvas. Both fighters fought a great fight just so happens Canelo was the better fighter. Trout and Canelo are clearly the best 154lb fighters in boxing(assuming mayweather doesnt fight at this weight).

I agreed with you till you said it reminded you of pac Bradley. Pac out landed Bradley.
Either Pacqiuao was a defensive genius who all of a sudden for that one fight with Bradley couldn't be touched or the comp box numbers were wrong...and they were shockingly wrong...no one has been able to explain how Pacquiao was given credit for 252 landed in that 12 round fight which would have given him a 21 punches pr round "punches landed" average...not when Pacquiao seldom jabbed more than twice or through body shots which is the highest percentage of a punch you can throw...Pacquiao threw his straight left... or the jab and straight left...then took off for the second part of the fight...NO WAY he landed 252 punches...no way he won that fight...Canelo looked exactly the same this night accept he had a knock down of Trout but failed to press the advantage in round 7 and then completely gave away round 8.

To Canelo's credit...he showed poise under fire, a good chin and defense as he slipped punches...the kid has talent and is only 22 years old. When he came out and into the crowd you could tell by his exuberance that he was a star. Canelo needs to learn to vary the speed and force of his punches...he swings for the fences with every shot and he got tired way to early, it's not like he was hella busy. He looks electrifying when in the ring...you look more at Canelo than you did Trout waiting to see what he's gonna do next in the ring. Now that Trout is off of his radar...and if Mayweather doesn't materialize next for some reason then who is their to challenge him? What fighters are moving up from 147 or that remain at 154 that have any type of significant draw? Mayweather's fight after Guerrero I assume would have to be at 154...does he run the risk of losing the WBA Jr Middle Weight title if he does another fight at 147 defending his WBC Welterweight crown? Or does Sergio get a shot at Canelo...and as someone previously mentioned...if it's Sergio it looks like he'll outwork Canelo out of the arena. If Canelo makes it through the next couple of years...he looks like he can be bigger than Chavez Sr .

If not Floyd, Lara absolutely deserves a shot at Canelo. But I just don't see Golden Boy making that fight. Maybe Victoria Ortiz after he's done with dancing with the stars, that would be a pretty big fight. Although I'd hate it, Angulo makes sense from a financial standpoint.

But make no mistake Lara is the biggest challenge outside of Floyd.

Canelo looked gassed at times. It didn't seem like Trout landed hardly any power shots up top. I was impressed with Canelo's speed at times though. The announcers hit it spot on, he was tired and was winging shots but every once in awhile he'd throw them crisp and look good. Trout is somewhat skilled, but not skilled enough. Canelo definitely looked beatable last night. Either way, good fight. I'd like to see it again.

Good fight. I had it close 7-5 either way. Canelo looked good at times but did nothing for like 2:30 of a round throwing no punches. That knock down punch was beautiful as hell. Trout worked the jab and the body great in this fight. If Trout would've put his feet on the gas and pressed the body attack more he could've ended it. Canelo just needs the move his hands more and work his offense. His defense was impressive and what do you know at 22 he already knows how to cut off the ring word to Donaire and Manny. And Canelo was a 172lb on fight night damnit man that boy is big.

I said it was ironic that he was wearing Zebra print cause he looked like a Zebra on rollerskates after that knockdown. He got up and looked fine after that. He took a damn good shot.

Canelo had to much confidence and lowered his defense, trout could have knocked him out
He got tired. Fighters lower their guard when they get tired. Alvarez was breathing through his mouth. Trout made me a believer last night and I think those scores were way off.

On a side note did anyone see the FNF KO? DAAAAAMN....
