The right man won. There obviously was no robbery. And I was going for Lara.

He simply didn't do enough to win. He needed to do more work, especially in the close rounds, you just can't be satisfied with landing a couple nice shots in a round and circle for the rest and expect to win. Ever now and then Lara would land a beautiful one two combo, then dance away and not throw for another 30 seconds or more. He coud have capitalized on those moments but chose not too.

It's the same replay of the Canelo vs Trout fight but the difference was that it was Austin who was going to the body more than Canelo from the first round and it showed up as Canelo slowed in the 6th round and was retreating along the ropes with Alvarez's hands down...I had Trout winning that fight...Lara should have did exactly what Trout did...even though both were unsuccessful but Trout did better in my opinion. Canelo is now 2-3 against the best boxers in the business Trout, Mayweather and Lara...no longer can you ask "Who has he fought?"

You can virtually never say a fight that you personally scored 115-113, that ended up in a split decision, was a robbery. If you thought the fight was that close, you have to understand the judges do not have instant replay, punch stats, and they have to hear the roar of the crowd when the more popular fighter comes even remotely close to landing a punch.

The fight was close, but I wouldn't call it a robbery by any means even though I thought Lara won.

Yes you can, not this fight in particular because they had enough swing rounds that could have gone either way. If in a 12 rounds fight a fighter clearly, not close, very clearly wins 7 of those rounds and doesn't get the nod, that's a robbery. He doesn't have to beat the shit out of the guy for it to be a robbery.

I wouldnt put Trout in the class of the best though. Obviously Floyd is thee best and Lara is right up there but Trout is a tier or 2 lower than Lara. Funny enough I thi nk Canelo lost all 3 fights. Maybe a draw against Trout but thats about it. Got Em!!

close fight, I thought Lara won by a round or two. he used great ring generalship, made canelo miss bad(and look ridiculous) good footwork, jab, and a few good 2 and 3 punch combinations(should've threw more) canelo did tear that body up. as CZAR @CZAR pointed out canelo looked hella aggressive in the 12th like he knew he was down on the scorecards. close fight? yes. Robbery? No.

I definitely don't think it was here but scores don't mean anything when talking about robberies. If a fight takes place and one guy very clearly, unarguably wins 7 rounds and the other guy gets the decision that's a robbery.
You can't have someone winning by one round, then claim it was a robbery.

People act like Lara deserved some 117-111 across the board victory.
By what? Running, landing a clean 1-2 down the middle twice a round, then getting back on his bike?

I just don't see this as a robbery. It's not like Lara "unarguably" won 7 rounds. Some of them were close, and close rounds more often than not go to the aggressor. Especially in Vegas.

I'm not talking about this fight just the comment in general and that doesn't make sense. If fighter A beats someone clean, unarguably for 7 rounds and doesn't get those 7 rounds that's a robbery. If no argument can be made for fighter a not winning those 7 rounds it's a robbery. Doesn't matter what the score is just like you can have a lopsided score in a close fight. People look way too much into scores and not what they actually mean.

I'm saying virtually never, because I cannot think of a single fight that I thought a guy won by 1 round that every single round was clear cut over 12 rounds.

For those who thought Lara won, what exactly did you see him do to win? Just curious, nothing more.
I thought when Canelo was landing, he wasn't landing clean shots. He wasn't being the effective aggressor most of the time, and when Lara was landing, he was landing clean a decent portion of that time and slapping Canelo's neck back. He controlled the fight mostly with his legs and angles and made Canelo look silly a lot of times with him swinging wildly and hitting nothing but air. It was close though, there were times there Canelo landed 3-4 good body shots, but there were times where Lara was getting through Canelo's guard and confusing the hell out of him with his footwork.
