i didn't see a thread on this so I thought I'd start one. What's your thoughts on it? I could live with an extra $600 bucks and i think something like this is long overdue. One question I have, is which part of the economy would the $600 for singles/ 1200 for couples, best and most effectivly spent to boost the economy. would it be retail, industry, or investments?

I don't think Bush has ever been able to even stimulate his wife, let alone the economy. I think it's a desperate act by a desperate administration.

That extra 600 bucks I'm going to get is going straight to my credit card debt. Most people will probably do the same, we got bills to pay you know.

Thank you Bush for spending a trillion dollars on a "war". Unfortunately, that harmed our economy, but wait, you have this great response in the form of a tax credit! This will undoubtedly slow the recession this country is facing by one day and hurt us even more in the long run!

Fuck your credit!

I don't think it's a desperate act.. Well maybe.. and desperate act.. to make people think they didn't fuck up the economy on purpose.. but we all know they did.. they want to try to bring in the Amero.. and North American .. Dictatorship... with RFID cards.. and total control of the good people.. while the criminals will run free! but hey.. god bless American...

they are aiming at both...consumption and investment. the average household and businesses are getting money.

yes i do agree it is a desperate attempt, but I'm glad to see that it's aimed towards lower incomes. If only we didnt have fucking lobbyists and big businesses backing individuals in our government, we could get higher taxes for the wealthy. The reason our economy is so fucked right now is because our wealth distribution is lop-sided.

The rich of America are not spending their money, it's hoarded in their bank accounts and is not be invested back into the economy. If the wealthy were limited to the amount of money they could hold onto, or be forced into high tax penalties, we could see that returned into new jobs and a better economy

But until the day that lobbying is outlawed and big businesses stop filling up our government leader's pockets, we will continue to be faced with recessions and eventually another depression like the 30's or 80's

too little too late. Here comes recession. So much for the republicanTs "cut taxes to stimulate the economy" argument.
