Two of the worst decisions I have ever seen in boxing. I doubt I'll watch season 2 after this shit, but if Mora/Manfredo fight again, I'm watching that fasho just to watch Sergio the HomoSnake get his ass beat again. 3 total KO's in his career? Pathetic!

High tension at Contender presser!

October 17, 2005

By Whit Haydon

The post fight press conference was every bit as intense as the action in the ring Saturday night at STAPLES CENTER in Los Angeles as The Conteder contestants blew off some steam.

Peter Manfredo Jr. was defiant in defeat, as was Sergio Mora in victory. Manfredo's attitude was that as if he had received the somewhat controversial decision, and that he was walking away a winner regardless. "If he thinks he won the fight then he needs to see the fight again. I'm not in a bad mood at all because I feel like I won the fight. I'm not going to cry about it." said Manfredo.

Mora was just as defiant in victory. Mora had to overcome a big cut over his left eye suffered in the first round and had to have it stitched up afterwards. The cause of that cut is one that Mora would dispute. "It was a headbutt, I promise you that on my life. I promise you 100% on my career that it was a headbutt."

When asked if he was concerned about the cut during the fight Mora certainly was afraid of the fight being stopped prematurely. "I thought they were going to stop the fight (after the cut) because my coach said "Oh My God" when he saw the cut. He's supposed to keep me calm!"

The press conference became heated when everything the other guy said seemed to draw the ire of the other. When asked if Mora won the fight, Mora responded fast. "Yes. I won the fight convincingly again. I got the flu for five days and I was at my weakest. Mafredo was at his strongest. Not once did he hurt me. I eased up on him when I had him against the ropes." Mora said with anger.

"Sergio, will you come over and give me a kiss?" Manfredo replied. "I like to be kissed while I'm being f**ked." Manfredo was alluding to the hometown decision and Mora's assertion that he was not at 100% for this fight.

The audience of 100 in the press room oohed and aahed at that one. Mora was none too happy with it. "I'll beat you in Providence (R.I.). I'll beat the sh*t out of you." When questioned with punchstat numbers that looked to have indicated an edge toward Manfredo, Mora said "I'm a boxer, not a mathematician. I beat him again."
