July ended with a bang with this Showtime card. Arakawa vs Fig was a straight war!!! They both went forward the whole time, one of the more entertaining fights I have seen.

Thurman has nice skills. He's not the fastest or hardest hitter but his technique is good...Thurman's opponent was no slouch either.

Its lightweight sad to see Berto's career take a nose dive right so quickly. like 2-0 said, his footwork is terrible! My boy came to the house to watch this card and that was the first thing he pointed out (footwork) about Berto. His handspeed is nice but his defense and chin are weak. He seems to be offbalance most of the time also....

That as the best card I've ever seen top to bottom. That was incredible all the way around.

Like Teddy Atlas says on Fight night, the guy with less power is the one who wins in a match of power punchers because he has more options, that summed up the Thurman fight.

2nd fight was ridiculous. Over 2100 punches thrown. If Arakawa could punch at all, he would've knocked him out. I'm just glad he didn't die last night.

Berto showed as much heart as anyone in recent memory and hung in there. Gritty performance but he just don't got it.

Berto is a real warrior with the heart of a champion, but he needed a new trainer about three years ago. Damn I wish his right shoulder didn't go out on him, dude fought 9 rounds with one hand. I still got love for Berto dude is always in a all action fight.

Kieth Thurman is a serial killer but he needs to work on his defense.
Anthony Dirrell looked good after a long lay-off.
Omar Figueroa vs Nihito Arakawa is mortal combat.

Once again the Showtime card shitted all over the HBO hypejob card.

The hbo card wasn't bad especially considering they didn't have to pay anything. No comparison to the Showtime card which may have been the best card of the yesr. Anyone see the Ruiz Hanks fight? Ruiz got some fast hands! He still need to work on his body but the kid got some skills.

Main event, Shiming, he's looking weak, still looks like an amateur but he's bringing in big time ratings in China so thats a good thing. I dont see him going very far he simply has zero power.

I think Thurman proved he's got a good chin, he got nailed by a few monster shots and seemed fine. Good learning experience for lil David Haye. He's well rounded, he can be a monster or he can box and use the jab like last night. He's shown hes a multi dimensional fighter.

I'm also not too hyped on Andre Berto, not sure if I ever was, but I just don't think he has the right mental capacity for boxing, let alone the boxing skills. ----there's no reason to get tagged all night and have your face looking like that after a fight, especially with a guy like Soto-Karass. Him and Ortiz should have a rematch. Their first fight was amazing and they have similar personalities.

broner could be the next berto remember the hype around berto? he had the hand speed and power but just like broner he hadn't found anyone just bums. ortiz changed all that real quick and layed the blueprint for guerrero to get that win. I'll be surprised if he broner actually takes the maidana fight...

Thurman also showed a lot of skills in his previous fight too. He can box. And it's not like Birmingham isn't a great trainer. I think a lot of people forget about that. He has a pretty high ceiling.
