All the fights were solid but Burgos was robbed. He landed almost 100 more punches than Martinez and clearly had him hurt. That's b.s.

The GGG/Rosado fight was pretty good. Fight was a bloodbath. Not so sure that GGG could handle Martinez or even Chavez for that fact but I'd like to see him try. A fight with Pirog or Quillin would be awesome too.

I think Golovkin would have a chance against Martinez. Obviously you need to use movement and use the ring to be effective against GGG's style and that's what Martinez is good at. But Golovkin does a lot of subtle things in the ring that might go unnoticed. He's great at cutting off the ring. He's defense is probably better than most people realize. And his power is just undeniable, he wears guys down. Martinez, we've obviously seen him hurt and he was exhausted against Chavez, who isn't nearly as good at applying pressure as Golovkin is. So he's got a shot.

But that's a dream fight for now. The best fight at 160 is GGG vs Quillin. Would be a war.

Golovkin remids me a lot of Kostya Tsyzu, not just because they are from the Russian area. Tsyzu did a lot of subtle things too, especially defensively. He wasn't the slickest fighter or didn't have the best power, but he had power in both hands and was always a handful for anyone no matter what type of fighter he was fighting.

I don't think GGG would get totally wiped out and is definitely a live dog, but like I said, I don't know that he could really handle Martinez. I honestly think Martinez is going to have troubel bouncing back after knee surgery at his age. But if he is who he was before the injury, I think his jab is what would actually present the most problems for GGG after seeing how busted up his face was last night. If the jab is landing often, the left hand would soon follow.

I agree, his jab would be key. But he'd have to do that for 12 full rounds and again, I just gotta go back to his fight against an unskilled Chavez who did pretty much everything wrong (not cutting off the ring, no defense, being predictable, etc.) and it still took nearly everything out of Martinez to get that win. I think Golovkin has shown that when he touches his opponents, it hurts and it wears guys down. Martinez would have to use a ton of energy bouncing around the ring and imo, eventually he's going to slow down at some point and that's when Golovkin's heavy hands become a major factor. I think it's a lot tougher of a fight then some people might realize, GGG isn't hype job Chavez, he has real boxing skills and the amateur credentials to prove that (nearly 400 fights beating guys like Andre Dirrell, Andy Lee, Lucen Bute, etc.).

And you're right about Martinez, I'm not sure he fully recovers from his injuries either. I think he's 38 years old now. I guess we'll have to see how he looks against Martin Murray but I'm guessing we'll never see a prime Martinez again (nor do I think he'll fight other top guys like GGG, Quillin or Pirog).

what? So confused about what you're upset about. Salido headbutted Garcia (and to me it looked intentional) and clearly broke his nose (Garcia's nose was sideways!). The doctor called the fight off. The rule is if an accidental headbutt causes an injury and the fighter is deemed not fit to continue, it goes to the scorecards.

Sure, Garcia could have been a "warrior" and fought with a badly broken nose but why? He was easily beating Salido. Knocked him down like 5-6 times and was way ahead on the scorecards. Why continue and allow Salido to benefit from a foul? That was more of a bitch move by Salido, he was obviously desperate and got dirty.

Well, if the jab was landing often and his left hand started getting into the mix, the fight doesn't last 12 rounds. And for what it's worth, it's not as easy to cut off the ring against Martinez as it is against other guys that use lateral movement. His movement is excellent at times with his in/out movement and how he moves to the side. At times his movement isn't very good and he's off balance. I don't take anything away from GGG. But I'm saying that he would be fighting a completely different class of fighter in Martinez with really good punching power (at least as good as Rosado's) and would have a tough time. If he wore him down and knocked him out, good for him, I just think he'd have a really tough time doing so. Chavez was also like 180lbs on fight night if I remember correctly. That's a HUGE advantage, even if he made all the mistakes in the world. Just punching a guy that much heavier than you can take the gas out of your legs and punches over 12 rounds

Im not saying GGG would walk through Martinez, Im just saying he has a legit shot at winning. IMO, this would be the best opponent Martinez has fought since Pavlik and that was no walk in the park for Sergio.

Man Chavez sucks, i don't care if he's 180 or not, hell Rubio gave him a tough fight that went the distance. I wouldn't favor Chavez against any top MW. Not Quillin, Pirog, Ndam, Geale probably not even Sturm.

Paul Williams showed to be a better fighter over a career at that point than GGG has shown where we are now. Williams had some lackluster moments but overall, he was a P4P fighter with a win over Martinez under his belt after Pavlik. GGG is good though and either way, I'd love to see him fight anyone in the top 10. He's getting a little too much credit for beating the fighters as a pro outside of the top 10 in my opinion. He was pretty damn busted up last night.

He got a little puffy, but he had to take shots to land shots on a guy who was constantly moving. Still Rosada only landed 22% of his punches whereas GGG landed 47%.

Proksa is still in the top ten. Outside of that unfortunately GGG can't get a fight. He's tried to fight Quillin, Sturm, Ndam, Geale, Macklin, everybody.

I was hoping Quillin will be next but looks like Al Haymon did some work for Peter and somehow managed to get Rubio as Peters mandatory fight after Guerrero. So no one wants to fight him which is why he fought Rosado in the first place.

I just hope GGG doesn't take any fights at 168, he'll be way too small.

Proksa isn't in the top 10. Maybe in one of the sanctioning bodies but he's not a top 10 fighter. I don't doubt that he might be avoided, but would why anyone in the top 10 be clamoring to fight a guy like GGG with no fan base outside of really hardcore boxing fans? That's the way it always is. I don't like it, but boxing is a business.

Proksa is #10 right now:

Boxing Ratings | RingTV

Other than Martinez and Chavez, there are no big names at 160. GGG has a big buzz behind him and HBO wants his fights. Like I said before, Quillin turned down HBO money, to headline against GGG but turned it down to fight for Showtime undercard money. Not onlt that but it would have been a unification bout and sadly looks like Peter will fight another pointless match against Rubio.

Golovkin vs Sturm would have been huge in Germany, where Golovkin lives. He shamelessly ducked his mandatory for two years.

Pirog and ggg vs chavez jr ill put my money on jr...... wat ever hapen to pirog?? I havent heard nothing from him since he beat jacobs.
He suffered a bad back injury that he's still dealing with. He was supposed to fight Golovkin instead of Proksa but pulled out as a result of that injury. Hopefully he gets healthy cuz he's had several injuries the past couple years.

The ring is probably rating Proksa on skill more so than resumes. Regardless he was considered a top ten guy when GGG fought him, which should have been Pirog. Anyways, I want GGG to fight better opponents too but he can't seem to get anyone. He's stuck for now despite being a title holder.

GGG wouldnt beat Martinez but I do think he can beat Chavez Jr. As for Quillin thats 50/50. Garcia will smash Gamboa if it happens. I knew Salido didnt have a chance against Garcia. Got Em!!

Finally got to watch the Friday fights on DVR......Mexican cat got robbed in first fight.

Russian dude beat the breaks off of that other cat. His corner saying he was going to die was classic though. Good stop though.

And Mikey Garcia made Salido look like an amateur in the ring. I love how he called out Gamboa. I'd love to see that fight, but I don't think Gamboa wants any of Mikey Garcia.
