Yeah he won. Punch stats show it. Provodnikov's face shows it (without the headbut cut). The rounds Matthyse won were clear wins. PRovodnikov's rounds weren't.
I'm not saying Matthysse didn't win, but punch stats don't prove anything. A guy could land 100 punches in a round and he still wins the round 10-9. The other guy could land 5 punches the next round and win that round 10-9. So total punch stats don't tell the whole story, what it boils down to is who won the most rounds. I thought it could have been a draw. But the rounds Matthysse won, like round 6 for example, HE BEAT THE SHIT OUT OF RUSLAN. But that's still just a 10-9 round. The rounds Matthysse won, he won big. The rounds Ruslan won, there were a couple that he kinda stole, just by landing the bigger shots and Matthysse not doing much.

Tough fight to score either way, but I think Matthysse deserved the decision but I could also see a draw, Ruslan really came on strong late. Great action.

This fool just said he thought he won the fight. commenter shook his head like WTF and basically asked him what he was talking about.

They better get this kid to the hospital and he better not campaign at this weight again. Everyone in this weight class is hitting too hard for him.
That's what he gets for disrespecting the sport!

Look how bad he looks now for pulling out of the Golovkin fight. The deal Top Rank had on the table was $10 million dollars to fight Golovkin, and a minimum of $5 million for his next fight if he lost, and another $7-$10 million+ if he would have beat Golovkin. He's not seeing that kind of money anytime soon that's for sure, and possibly never. Their were rumors Haymon was going to match him up with Adonis Stevenson after tonight as well, that's out the window for sure now.
