Poor Castillo, he fell the fuck off in a hurry. might be time to hang 'em up....... I feel bad for the guy, lot's of unfortunate shit over his career

Jose Luis Castillo Fails to make weight again!

CANCUN, Mexico: Jose Luis Castillo failed to make weight for his 140-pound WBC eliminator bout on Friday, forcing the cancellation of yet another important fight for a boxer with a long history of weighty problems.

Castillo didn't even show up at an amphitheater next to Nichupte Lagoon for the weigh-in before his fight with Timothy Bradley on the undercard of Saturday's WBC heavyweight title bout between Oleg Maskaev and Samuel Peter.

When Castillo weighed himself Thursday night, he was 147 pounds — and two hours before the official weigh-in, he still topped the scales at 144 1/2 pounds, Bradley's camp said. While Castillo headed home to Mexicali, Mexico, Bradley was left frustrated by at least Castillo's fourth major problem making weight in the last few years.

"It hurts the sport bad, and something needs to be done to Castillo," Bradley said. "He needs to be suspended. He needs to vanish from boxing. We don't need to see his name in the ratings."

Bradley, an undefeated contender from Palm Springs, Calif., said WBC president Jose Sulaiman has promised to make him the No. 1 challenger to super lightweight champion Junior Witter, guaranteeing Bradley a title shot.

The six U.S. team members will look to join their five teammates, light flyweight Luis Yanez (Duncanville, Texas); flyweight Rau’shee Warren (Cincinnati, Ohio); bantamweight Gary Russell, Jr. (Capitol Heights, Md.); featherweight Raynell Willams (Cleveland, Ohio) and welterweight Demetrius Andrade (Providence, R.I.), who qualified for the Olympic Games at the 2007 World Championships in Chicago, Ill., in October.

david haye & nate campbell looked damn good tonite
Yea, Campbell finally showed up to a meaningful fight and I thought he was going to get fucked on the decision. I still think Wlad beats Peter again if they were to fight again which if it's up to Don King I'm sure they won't.

.. and David Haye straight wrecked Enzo.

Do you think the outcome would of been different between the Diaz and Campbell fight. If Diaz didnt have that gash above his eye?
Possibly .. but all the same Diaz is going to have to learn to work through shit like this. Fighting the way he fights he's bound to clash heads or get sliced from punches. His style leaves himself open and he likes to fight phone booth style .. shits bound to happen.

.. Also the point deduction on Campbell was bullshit that shit was a clean punch that busted him right in the eye. A butt might've opened the cut but the shit he got a point taken away for was a punch.

You know what I just noticed? In HBOs end of the year boxing reviews that they do they highlighted three up and coming undefeated fighters after paying respects to Diego Corrales .. the fighters were Michael Katsidis, Juan Diaz & Paul Williams. Two of them lost their first fights of the year ..
