Look at all the posts here and you will see people saying it. If you weren't one of the ones it doesn't change anything. He has been inactive. GGG has fought ranked guy after ranked guy. Yes, Ward had a good performance 4-6 years ago in the super six. Great, what is he doing now? What has he done in the last year to keep him on the p4p at the two spot? Nothing.

And czar, if GGG has been fighting bums, and you believe he is a bum (admit it, breh), then why would you want to see Ward fight him? Would you want to see him fight someone more credible if that's the case?
I never said he was a bum. I said I dont know how good he is yet because ll he has fought re bums. So because hella people claim he is so bomb that I wanna see Ward beat his ass lol. Got Em!!

This man just told jay z to suck his dick and said Rihanna was only good for pussy. He can turn that into $40m, lol. Broner needs better opposition and convincing wins over those quality opponents. The man lost to Maidana and he's still alive and being talked about.

Nah man, he is young he will make his money. Smart move.
You must admit there is a lot of risk. It's not that he just lost to Maidana, it's just that he's really not that great. Paulie almost beat him. PAULIE! He didn't look spectacular in his comeback fights either.

He's very marketable though no question about that. He has the personality people love him or hate him which of course means people want to watch him fight. But he takes a couple L's? He's not making $8m a year. So it's definitely a risk. Again, long-term multi million deals with guaranteed money don't come often in boxing like that.

Since 2-0-Sixx @2-0-Sixx is busy engaging in 50 page arguments for a fight that probably isn't happening and refuses to start a January thread for the sake of the people like a true communist I'll just post here.

First FNF started off fantastic with Francisco Santana brutally KOing undefeated, disgustingly untested, Kendal Mena in a round.

He's fought mid level quality guys, top contenders, etc. Certainly not bums. For me he passes the eye test. He certainly does everything in the ring correctly for his style of fighting plus his amateur background tells us he's been in the ring with every type of style there is against the highest quality fighters in the world and he won against those top fighters, so we know he's a special talent and has the experience. He just needs a dance partner WILLING to fight him. I think this year will be his year. Martin Murray next month is the best possible opponent available (who many think should be the true lineal champ since most thought he beat Martinez), then while he waits for Canelo/Cotto, he can unify another belt against Andy Lee around April/May and then fight Cotto/Canelo in September. Fighter of the Year if he knocks them all out.

But I agree with what you said the page before. Andre Ward certainly has earned his right to fight anyone and GGG is the one that is trying to prove himself. And just FYI Wars is no longer pound4 pound#2 since he hasn't fought in over a year. He'll jump right back on the ratings as soon as he fights again though.

And what about Marcos Maidana? What happens to him?
He's gone. Besides Canelo, the only guys under contract with Golden Boy that are with Haymon are Amir Khan, Matthysse, and Leo Santa Cruz.

So expect all these guys to go to Haymon boxing and or TMT ALONG with Richard Schaefer to guide the ship. He's a pretty good matchmaker which Al Haymon needs fucking bad so maybe that will help.

Oscar apparently got PAID big time for this, like I'm talking upwards of $30-$40 million. So the way I see it is he can use that money and rebuild, or pocket that money and just merge with Top Rank. Might as well all Oscar has left is Canelo and some prospects. Khan, Mattysse and Cruz will leave as soon as their contracts expire. So Golden Boy has a very weak stable right now (well it has since Schaefer left it's just official now).

So with Haymon/Schaefer/Mayweather owning nearly 150 fighters, and now with Roc Nation spending crazy money and looking like they will be a powerhouse, why not just merge with Top Rank? Either that or just retire, enjoy life and maybe be a commentator or something.

This article says Maidana is going with Haymon:

Schaefer's Return Looms For 2015, With Haymon?
Rick Reeno on 1/10/2015 .

By Rick Reeno

As BoxingScene.com previously reported,*Golden Boy Promotions,*and former company*CEO Richard Schaefer, have reached a settlement on their legal battle.

After more than ten years with the company, Schaefer stepped down from his CEO position in June of 2014. A few weeks later, Golden Boy filed a reported*$50 million dollar*arbitration claim against Schaefer.

Golden Boy President and company founder Oscar De La Hoya had stated to BoxingScene.com that Schaefer was under an exclusive contract to his company until 2018.

As part of the settlement, Schaefer will*have to sit on the sidelines for a unspecified period of time. However, sources with direct knowledge of the settlement details have told BoxingScene.com that Schaefer will have the ability to return to*boxing in 2015 (some industry*insiders speculate by the end of summer).

Schaefer was unavailable for comment. A spokesman for Golden Boy was*unable to discuss*any settlement details.*BoxingScene believes an official statement will be coming in the next few days.

Additionally, Golden Boy finally executed their expected parting of ways with adviser/manager Al Haymon.

Haymon controlled a*huge chunk of Golden Boy's stable - and any of those fighters were working under the Golden Boy banner on a fight by fight basis. Haymon refused to bind his*boxers under promotional*agreements with Golden Boy*(or any other promoter for that matter).*

There are some fighters who work with Haymon -*like Amir Khan, Leo Santa Cruz and Lucas Matthysse - who will continue with Golden Boy. Those fighters have actual promotional agreements with Golden Boy. Other fighters, like Danny Garcia, Adrien Broner, Danny Jacobs and Marcos Maidana will be leaving.

It is believed*(although not confirmed)*that Schaefer will join forces with Haymon to help him run his recently established company, Haymon Boxing. Haymon, who works with at least 150 fighters,*has secured a television deal with NBC/NBC Sports - and those televised cards are*scheduled to start in March.

People are still going to sign with Golden Boy. I definitely think they'll be able to build a roster. They just signed David Lemieux so there's a guaranteed HBO fighter there, until he gets smoked.

My question is will GB be able to make fights with whatever Haymon he currently has under contract or is it basically going to be a wait till these contracts expire kind of situation?

broner6666By Allan Fox: Former three division world champion Adrien Broner (29-1, 22 KOs) is said to have turned down a 5-year, $40 million offer to fight for the promotional company Roc Nation Sports, according to TMZ.

Broner wasn’t happy with the offer. It’s unclear if it wasn’t what he could get from Al Haymon or from Golden Boy Promotions. Whatever the case, the 25-year-old Broner declined the offer.

It’s hard to imagine Broner getting even that good of an offer by Roc Nation, because there’s a lot of doubt whether he’s got the talent to hold down a world title at 140 or 147 following his loss to Marcos Maidana in 2013.

Broner moved down to 140 after his loss to Maidana, but he’s looked poor in fights against Carlos Molina and Emmanuel Taylor in 2014. He showed no improvement in those fights from his performances against Maidana and Paulie Malignaggi.

Ranked #3 WBA, #4 WBC, #10 IBF in the light welterweight division, Broner is poised to get a world title shot in 2015 against one of the champions. However, the odds of him beating any of them remain doubtful. WBA/WBC 140 pound champion Danny Garcia would seem like a step too far for Broner, and it’s likely that Broner won’t even bother facing him.

The thought is Broner will wait until Garcia vacates his titles before he goes after them. By the same token, IBF light welterweight champion Lamont Peterson also would be a very tough fight for Broner and one that he likely wouldn’t win due to Peterson’s high work rate.

Broner’s future earning potential remains in doubt at this point. He can make a lot of money as a contender, but as far as him winning another world title, it’s likely not going to happen without him getting help by Danny Garcia and Peterson in vacating their titles. Broner can, however, move back down to lightweight and look to reclaim his old WBC title if he wants to, but it doesn’t seem likely that he’ll want to melt down to 135 to make the weight.

In looking at how heavy Broner has looked in his recent photos, it’s not likely be could drain down from his current weight to make 135 any longer. Broner looked in the 170s in a recent photo of him.

If Broner can’t win another world title or if he can’t beat the top fighters at 140, then he’s likely going to see his paydays decrease. He might be just some guy who is already over-the-hill and seen his best days at this point.

The reason I asked anout Maidana is because I asked T @Tony who does Haymon have as a ppv star, and that's Maidana. The 147 division is shit now, cuz both Floyd and Manny make everyone look like so. But Maidana is one of those fighters that match him with anyone and it's ppv status. Broner and Maidana was supposed to be on ppv, and should have. But if he's just a Haymon fighter now, I can't see him make the type of money he would make vs Bradley, Marquez, Rios, or Manny. I would pay money for that over a Broner rematch, Thurman who is getting in the unproven stages now, and Guerrero who is turning into a ghost literally. Maidana better get back with GBP fast.

naner12 @naner12 Lemieux signed with GBP? That's tight! Robert Garcia said once who is the next mega star and he said GGG and I believe that. No one is in the hunt for 147 no more, the ppv fights this year seem to be the 160-168 now because of him and Cotto winning over Martinez. By GBP signing Lemieux gives them a strong chance of getting a 160 title and setting him up vs Canelo, Cotto, GGG, or Kirkland! 160-168 is the division to watch now.
