I was thinking Delinquents before I opened the thread but that competition was deep! Digital Underground had the most hits but I went with the Coup cuz they been around just as long almost n still going
That steady mobbin album probably put up big numbers that's right before no limit started falling off... I'm a big fan of 3x crazy but rbl had two classics also
I gotta be honest, I think souls of mischief reached the furthest. They were in NY skate videos in 93. They're not my favorite but I think they reached the furthest
best rappers on there is Boots and A Plus. biggest influence on hip hop is probably Souls. biggest influence on mainstream probably Luniz and Digital. biggest influence on mob music probably the Daughters/Fonky Expedition. Bad N-Fluenz shoulda been named tho cus they're the dopest.
in the early/mid 90's everybody i knew who listened to "local" shit had collections that were basically Frisco, Richmond, Vallejo, Oakland, Sac, EPA, and Stockton. everybody i knew had more Oakland tapes than anything else. that's not including Hammer or Oaktown 357. or Souls, or Short, or them ones that really went national.
I think who ever voted should post there favorite song of the group they voted for so we can really see why. Need to post your favorite song of the ones not voted for too to keep it fair. Might change the results
