A lot of the greats were killin shit way before I was born but I've seen a lot of film so let's rank em 1-5.

I'm not talkin longevity or any of that, I am just talking who was the best RB of all-time at the height of their game.

In order,

1. Barry Sanders

2. Earl Campbell

3. Jim Brown

4. Gale Sayers

5. Bo Jackson

Let's hear it Sicc, who yall got?

Watch this video and you'll see Payton had it all. He was fast, agile, could make people miss, but he was also a beast he would literally hit & hurt defenders, never ran out of bounds :)cough: emmit smith: cough), had a great stiff arm, one of the best at goal line situations (jumping over the pile countless times), great WR and a fantastic blocker. He was the complete package. ONLY other RB in history that was like that on that level was jim brown

(start about about :40)

Barry Sanders
Walter Payton
Jim Brown
Adrian Peterson
Emmitt Smith
Imma say it. Emmitt Smith is not a top 5 running back, he was a product of one of the greatest offensive lines in the history of the NFL. He was a north and south runner. You could insert just about any average or slightly above average RB in that cowboys offense and they would have been stars. Hell, Therman Thomas from that same era was a better all around RB than Smith was. Smith has the record but it's just a number...was Shaun Alexander the best RB when he got the most yards rushing those few years or was he a product of that great O-line in seattle? Same shit for Smith.
