You're thinking of PUNT returns, not KICK returns. KICK returns often yield 20-30 yards before a player gets touched...where as PUNT returns often yield fair catches due to coverage.
No I'm not...I know the difference between kick and punt returns come on son.

You honestly never seen someone catch a high ball around the 10-15 yard line and have no room to move? Not every kickoff ends up in the end zone but if it does (which it would if this rule was enforced) the player would have more room to work with.

Like I said before, it happens more often than you think but not on every kickoff.

That rarely ever happened. Plus, they would be at the 10-15 yard line, which is a huge difference from catching the ball in the endzone. Most all coaches tell their returners to down the ball in the endzone unless it's right at the line. There is usually no exception unless you have a really talented/fast returner then it's their call.

See above. Coaches will tell them to down the ball if it's in the endzone.

Could have fooled me.

In the NFL? No. If an NFL kicker cant gett he ball to at LEAST the 5 yeard line, they are usually replaced. There is NO excuse, outside mother nature, to kick the ball to the 15. Are you kidding me right now?

Not every kickoff ends up in the end zone but if it does (which it would if this rule was enforced) the player would have more room to work with.
You don't really mean this...do you? This is absolutely asinine logic.

Like 2-0 said, players are usually instructed to take a knee if the ball is more than 2-3 yards deep...and even then its "iffy". Kicking the ball 9 yards deep every time now is going to do nothing but cause 10X the amount of knees taken. In other words, the kickoff return is basically DEAD. The first preseason week alone, saw more than 50% MORE touchbacks than last year. And this is with BACKUP players. Wait until the regular season starts and you have the REAL players playing.

Like I said before, it happens more often than you think but not on every kickoff.
You don't watch much football, do you?

LOL @ "it happens more often than you think"....no, it actually DOESN'T.

Count_Slapula, aka Retribution, does not watch much football. That was discovered in the Siccness Fantasy football league draft, when he asked if Kevin Kolb was still on the Eagles or some shit. He also had some other questions that were obvious to any person that remotely watches football. He admitted that he doesn't watch football closely.

Why the fuck would the returner have more room to work with. The gunners are gonna be 5 yards closer too so I don't see how that would make any difference on room to work with.

The bears should be worrying about their QB the baby ass quitter instead of this new rule. Tired of hearing people bitch about the new rules.
Srry Amigo but I prefer kick-offs @ the 30yd line....

Just watching Seabass kick it through the Field Goal at the game was enough for me. The new rule is fucking stupid. Protecting an investment? They don't give a fuck about the players. They don't want to pay for health care for the players.
NFL just hating on the Raiders and Jacoby Ford/Seabass, business as usual.
Lmfao @ this... Calmate Jr.

lol @ this coming from a Whiners fan.
Srry my fellow 9er fan (Ironlung420) but I agree w/ So. Co. on this one.... LuLz!!!!

You left out the part where I followed it closely over the past years but this season I haven't been which I clearly mentioned btw but I can see everyone enjoys being pompous for some reason.

I watched alot of football when I was a fan of it, I am not anymore.
