When they start winning Superbowls I will say we are seeing an evolution, but they haven't. I mean you could say Steve Young was won a Superbowl, but he won 1. Not one "mobile" QB since him has won a Super Bowl.

I just think it is a fad. Give me Manning, Brady, Roethlesbeger, Brees, etc all say over those guys. With that said I am sure owners love them because they sell out stadiums, are tremendously more exciting to watch, and they sell merchandise.

Did you see Wilson take a single hard hit this season? I agree with RG3, but Wilson and Kap are a different kind of QB. They are pass first QBs.

Vick is past his best days and his offensive line sucked. Plus I never thought he was comfortable in the pocket even when he was younger. Wilson and Kap aren't like that. They can pass from the pocket AND run if needed. Hell, Wilson is in a west coast offense.

I'd take a young Wilson and Kaepernick over those getting old QBs. They are the future.
Real talk so would I. IMO these 2 will be the top QBs in a couple seasons.

These guys are not injury prone because they aren't running QBs, but rather QBs with sick running skills. Both guys can sling the rock. Don't forget Kaep is a big ass dude too.

Exactly, this is what I mean by evolution of the QB. Maybe they are exceptions, but they aren't a gimmick just running around like crazy. We saw what Kap did that brought them to the Superbowl. We saw Wilson tie an NFL rookie record with 26 TD passes and had the second highest QB rating in the entire NFL since week 4 with a 109 rating.

I don't think people really realize how well rounded they are. Like I said running is just a wrinkle to the offense.

thats true, he will run out if he's close to the side...but when he isnt running down the side...he has taken a hit or two which he should be sliding on...kaep is on his way to greatness...i truly can say i like his work ethic...hopefully he continues down the path he's on for next year and years to come...because if he does he might just end up one day in the same conversation with montana and young...

the thing about these guys is they may not be "running qb's" but they extend plays, and thats when they're gonna take that blind side hit and blow out a knee... manning, brees, brady etc, check down or just throw it away for the most part...

im late to the party, but nooooooo this isn't an evolution. Defenses will catch up to this. They're very few QB's that can run and pass(accurately) RG3 will be out of the league if he keeps it up. Russell Martin is small as hell too but Kap is a different type of beast....speaking of, why didn't Jim Harbaugh go out of the pistol formation down at the goal line? that was some sorry play calling....go with what got you there son.....

Wilson proved this year he's not too small. Look at his numbers. He rarely made mistakes and he threw the ball deep very well. All one had to do is watch the Atlanta game where he had 385 yards passing, another rookie record for the post season. Hell, Drew Brees is only an inch taller then him.
